Another great video, Chef JohnMy Food Wish, Chef John, is a video on amazing food prep tips for the home kitchen. Stuff like recommended ways to heat up a plate/bowl (I know you went over it in a previous video, though nice to have it in one place, how you lay out your tools and ingredients when cooking for yourself at home, how you approach prepping ingredients ahead of time (i. e. how to decide what takes the longest when you aren't following a recipe, how to decide what ingredients to prepare ahead of time, etc) or other misc tips that I missed. My mother is horrible in the kitchen and I have been trying to teach her over the years, though it seems to come better for her when in video form. Even if you decide not to do it thanks for making all these amazing videos.

I hate to disagree with you philosophically over food, but not remind us of the meal the leftovers came from is completely anathema to my philosophy of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, to me, means having so much awesome food left over that you, for the most part, only cook once a year that it's permutations of Thanksgiving dinner for pretty much every meal for the next 3-5 days. Nobody cooks stuffing or green bean casserole in mid-May. Cylindrical cranberry goo is a strictly late-November thing. Thanksgiving is about cooking amazing, time-tested recipes and over the holiday weekend and living off of that for the rest of the holiday weekend, and putting the leftover leftovers into sandwiches for us to eat Monday.

Okayu or Congee is my favorite food. Has been for about 40 years or so. By itself, a soft-yolk egg, a little butter and garlic, leftover meats and a little splash of chili-oil, or in place of mashed potatoes with a steak or fried chicken. It's so simple, soothing, and versatile. For turkey, I like to add diced serranos, or go the adobo route. If there's okayu turkey leftovers, and it's not too soupy, I'll add a little gelatin to it, then bake it in a strong pie crust. Like steak pie or pork pie.

Chef John, nice leftover recipe, & if you want to kick it up a few notches, here we go. Quit being stingy with your duck fat & add some to the pot, if you did not cook chix at thanksgiving, buy a rotisseree chix at the grocer, or buy a couple of cans of white pulled chix breast. If you are out of duck fat, several grocers sell it now. Add that to your turkey/ rice concoction with a little poultry seasoning, & you have turduckin rice stew, is delicious. Hi, I am not a fan of turkey but I remember the first Christmas after I got married we bought a large turkey, about twice as big as we needed, with lots of leftovers. I decided to make a curry with the leftovers, cooking it long and slow. It was fantastic, I dont personally eat turkey at Christmas anymore but I still like to make a curry with leftovers.

The only thing I would do differently is add a bag of frozen veggies, mostly because I'm lazy and I do a lot of one pot cooking. Then again, I'm also a single parent, so there's other things that nip at my time. But cooking times will need to be adjusted to deal with the cold introduced by the veggies.

Yuk One Turkey meal a year over does it for me The best part Cranberry sauce. Takes at lease 3 glasses of wine to get a slice or two of Turkey down. Watched the President pardon a pair of Turkeys today, he should pardon all Turkeys except for the Democrat Turkeys.

We're doing a duck for Thanksgiving in my family this year, and I'm really excited to try this out with it It's almost risotto-like and that's one of my favorite things to eat. Can't imagine how good it would be with duck. Even have a lovely duck stock to go with

I work in medicine, I managed to get Thanksgiving off but will be right back first thing Friday. This'll be perfect for the lunch break. or what will likely be me standing up next to the sink and wolfing it down quickly. Either way I'll bet it'll be delicious.

no. What you do with leftover turkey is take a bed of mashed potatoes you've reheated and mixed with gravy to rehydrate. rip up some turkey and put it on top, then top a large bowl of it with green bean casserole and a side of corn pudding.
