How to Make an Italian Marinated Grilled Cheese - Food Wishes

This Italian marinated grilled cheese is made by briefly marinating three kinds of cheese in a quick oil and vinegar dressing, and including a few things you typically find in antipasto. It’s a new and amazing twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich.

Thank you for this great idea. It looks so delicious!
I need to make bread, anyway, so with homemade bread and marinated cheese, oh boy!
If someone wanted to pull put all the stops, for a small party, you could make these with slices of small baguettes. A good-sized griddle would be best, so you could grill up a bunch at once, and have a helper serve them to your guests on little saucers.
I suggest the saucers for portion control, so that each guest is sure to get one.

The Italian sausage from one of your videos a while back would be excellent in this sandwich. I’ve made it twice without stuffing it into the casing because I use it on pizza. It contains a lot of ingredients, but it’s well worth the effort. The anise and marjoram were a little challenging to find, but I did end up buying them locally for around one buck each.

I do not know how to say this properly, but, Chef John, you are the Chef John of Chef Johns.
I have made and eaten and shown off so many of your recipes.
You have shown me how to make/cook/eat so much better than I ever knew.
Thank you, sir.

Good lord the sound of cutting that sandwich was the worst. Like dragging rusted nails on a chalk board. What is this Two giant croutons with some cheese between them Sounded like you could break your teeth on that thing.

I added parmesan.
Grill your sandwich, LIGHTLY butter the grilled surface and press into VERY finely grated parmesan or related cheese. Re-grill. careful not to burn.
A side dip of a zesty sauce is too.

My family is required to eat a specific amount of Italian food each month. Since my uncle lost his mouth, it's been a bit harder to meet the quota. But this recipe looks invigorating. I can't wait to try it

Chef, we love you, but if you allow yourself to be duped into thinking this is a grilled cheese, you are living a lie. It may be a great sandwich, but a grilled cheese this is not.

I happen to have just eaten one of the worst lunches of my life, and here I find grilled cheese with olives. Sometimes it feels like the universe is messing with me.

Im sorry, a grilled cheese consists of 3 ingredients, bread, cheese, and a sprrad like butter or mayo. that is a cheese and vegetable sandwich. not a grilled cheese.

Whoever is moderating this. please, your voice goes up and down in a sing-song fashion so much, I couldn't listen. Sounds like you are making fun of another.

I am sick of idiots saying that if you add anything to grilled cheese it is a melt. no, that is only true if you add meat, we all know that, you can't gaslight us.

You're my hero Chey Jay. Instead of oil or butter for the bread when cooking I just lather each grilling side of the bread with some mayo.

Not to disparage this man who we all love, but I never understood how something you cook in a pan on the stove is called grilled

my variation uses cheddar, a little mortadella, dijonaise, shaved onion, chopped chives and a little chopped red pepper - on rye

OMG. this looks beyond fabulous. And I thought my grilled cheese with chutney was exotic, not even close. Thanks for this idea.

I wanna see how this turns out if you grill it inside out too. That was one of my favorite tips and I use it almost every sandwich
