This amazing chicken Cordon Bleu casserole features everything you love about chicken Cordon Bleu, but with way less effort. All the tastes and textures are there in a shortcut version you can whip up on a weeknight, and easily scale up to serve more people. It’s always great when the easiest way to make a classic turns out to also be the best way.

Ive made actual cordon bleu well more than 20 times over the years. and this looks like a much easier way to get the same basic taste. If I made it like this though, Im certainly incorporating a legit white wine/mornay type sauce into it (instead of just a tablespoon of cream. This would be too dry for me, and I always make a sauce when I do the cordon bleu.

Some of my favorite Chef John recipes are when he takes some outdated classic recipe and gives it a fresh new form factor. I'd like to see an updated version of some of the gelatin molds or mayonnaise salads from the 60s and 70s. More airline food! An entire series on insane Betty Crocker recipe books.

Good news! The AllRecipes auto-generated calorie count for this is 1130, but that felt off so I did the calculations myself. Turns out a serving is only 831. Still pretty high unless you're bulking, but you can split it into two servings for a very doable 416 calories each.

Is Chef John an Eminem fan I just recently heard a song that had around the outside, around the outside, around the outside in it Eminem - Without Me (Official Music Video)
No I am not an Eminem fan but it did play next in a playlist.

I make chicken cordon bleu for my family often, and one of our favorite parts is the holandaise sauce. This casserole looks SO much easier to make, but when I do I'll drizzle with holandaise! Thank you, Chef John! You're the best!

the food looks great but just a tip. listen to yourself on these videos. if someone read a book to you in the way you speak it would be jarring and unnatural. you dont need to enunciate the last word of every sentence.

5: 00 Sliding EMINEM lyrics into a Cordon Bleu Casserole cooking video is something nobody would have expected!
If you can work song lyrics into every video as a little Easter Egg would be so awesome!

Costco for Gruyere or better yet Comte, which is Gruyere made in France near the border with Germany. Comte is often much less expensive than Gruyere. Check the age too.

This reminds me of a dish i used to make with canned clams, and buttered breadcrumb topping. I can't remember what else was in it, i think parsley and lemon.

Interesting, this is lower carb than most casseroles, but also bereft of vegetables. I wonder how it would taste with some diced onion and celery thrown in.

yay! around the outside, around the outside, around the outside, where have you been It's been so long! LOVE CCB! Will be making this very soon!

You can eat this with a crowbar if you want Chicken Gordon Bleu, or you can feel secure with a little blue dye to make this Chicken Cordon Bleu Shift.

Dude are you stalking me I found a similar recipe yesterday and made it for dinner. Then today you put this video out. I'll have to try yours now also.

My partner makes a Sauerkraut Hamburger Egg Noodle Casserole with some cream soup. Id like to convert this into that idea. Maybe with some cream cheese.

I like it, though I'd be worried the chicken would not cook throughout vs browning of the bread crumbs. Maybe a quick sear on the chicken cubes

If you eat the salad first, this would be a healthy meal. The order should be; greens, proteins and lastly starches like carrots and potatoes.

Ham chunks are good. But a thin lining of ham is better. You could get sliced ham and do the same thing instead. Then cut it to eat.

Mmmmm. Excellent! Love how easy it looks. I'll simplify it even more by using rotisserie chicken. Not being lazy, just really busy!

Lazy versions of recipes are the best. Sure, sometimes you don't mind to put in the extra effort for the looks, but usually. nah
