Crazy Cake - one of the most delicious cakes, moist and chocolaty, full of flavor and almost melting in your mouth. It is so quick to prepare and no eggs, butter or milk are used. Ingredients Makes about 8-10 servings 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour 1/2 cup (100g) sugar 1/4 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder 1 tsp (6g) baking soda 1/2 tsp (2g) salt 5 tbsp (70g) canola oil 1 tbsp (15ml) vinegar 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract 1 cup (240ml) hot water Ganache 7 oz (200g) semisweet chocolate, chopped 1/2 cup (120g) whipping cream 1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C. 2. In an 8 inch (20cm) springform pan add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Whisk to combine. 3. Add the oil, vinegar, vanilla and hot water and whisk again until completely combined. 4. Use a spatula to spread evenly and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. 5. Let it cool slightly and remove the sides of the pan. 6. Prepare the chocolate ganache. Heat the cream in a small sauce pan, until almost boiling to the edges. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Let sit 1 minute and then stir until smooth. 7. Spread the ganache on top of the cake leaving 1 inch (2. 5cm) border at edge. 8. Use a spoon to create a flower shape. 9. Let the ganache set a bit at room temperature before serving.

Tried this recipe: great moisture and body in the cake, although the icing was fairly straightforward. However, the body of the cake did not exhibit much in terms of a chocolate flavour. You could tell that there was cocoa there, but you also noticed the salt, because there wasnt a very noticeable chocolate flavour to be had. If you ensure all the pieces you eat have some icing on them, then this issue becomes less noticeable, but its still a weakness in this recipe imo. Great sugar count though 27g per 1/8 of the cake.

Thanks for this I've made similar cakes to this in the past but never mixed them in the actual cakepan - anything that reduces washing up is a plus in my bookI'll be giving this a try with a gluten free flour mix (I'm coeliac) and perhaps a low lactose or lactose free topping. I'm quite partial to orange frosting on chocolate cakes, so I may make one of those - the flavour combo really works for me.

I baked this cake today and the skewer came out clean at 17 minutes. Believe me it's a thin cake (cupcake height) so it shouldn't be baked for 25 minutes. Also, I'm tempted to think that the cake filmed here has more coco powder because mine turned out on the light brown side. And the depth of chocolate flavor was not pronounced

I have made this cake 3x and I love it more every time. Its so easy to make and its delicious My family keeps requesting it Thanks so much. I modified it the 3rd time by slicing it in half and adding some ganache and strawberries to the middle with some more strawberries on top. YUM

Is it hot water? Bec when i add hot water it seems that the flour has been cooked. And the batter is not the same as on the video? What went wrong, i followed all the ingredients and procedure. And when the cake is baked its like pudding, a waste of inhredients,

Tried this recipe and it doesn't have anywhere near enough sugar. End result tasted bitter although it produced a nice textured crumb and rise. Disappointed. I may try it again but I will use 150g instead of 100g sugar
