Considering these are about the same size as chinese egg rolls, which can sometimes be as much as 4 US bucks per (or maybe more; thanks to foodtube i don't eat out much these days, one pound fifty, or 2. 33 usd, is pretty damn reasonable. Especially when you factor in the cost of prep and ingredients. With the prawns for meat and the many veggies, you've almost got a complete meal here. Bump each up to 3 bucks for a bit of profit, serve em in a batch of 3 bringing you up to 9, and you've got a dang good lunch. Chop each roll into 3 or 4 parts and you've got an appetizer to share. I don't know why I rambled on about this, but yay easy food

The ends need to be closed off to prevent food from falling out in my opinion. The act of dipping might psychologically affect how it tastes but I generally pour the sauce in each roll before rolling it up so there's less cleaning. I usually make these once a month. They're great. I also use pork belly in addition to prawns. Watching this just makes my mouth water.

Yes this is vietnamese. Its called goi cuon and it comes in a few variations in vegetables/herbs, fish/meat and dipping sauces. This dish is also often garnished with rice vermicelli. You can follow some authentic recipes, but what I love about this is that you can make them your own way. This is one of my favorite food and not to mention super healthy!

This is our favorite family meal at the moment. As a matter of fact, we had them last night for dinner! I used pork and chicken. I set up a produce bar of fresh picked items from the garden such as lettuce, basil, cilantro, green onion, and carrots. I made a sweet chili sauce and a peanut sauce for dipping. It is wonderful for family meals.

If you simply roll the spring rolls, the fillings will fall out from the sides. To properly wrap it, place the fillings near one side. Roll it halfway so that the fillings are tightly wrapped. Fold in the two edges, then roll it all the way to the other side, using a bit of water to help it stick.

I know it's supposed to be street food theme but I don't care how tasty the thing is or how fres it's supposed to be I don't want my spring roll thingy on some dimly lit cold street by a guy who knows all the hot lines the kids are saying these days. HOLY WAY TO TURN OFF A FOOD EXPERIENCE, BAT MAN

I like the style of presentation. The dipping sauce is too vinegary for my taste. It should be a better balance of tastes. Mixing Thai sweet chilli sauce with white wine vinegar and mirin - too acidic! A peanut sauce would work well. Tofu can be subbed for prawn.

To remove the skin of a carrot, just scrape it with a paring knife. Put the knife at a 45 degree angle and pull it away from the edge (not cutting, scraping. If you can do it under a running tap, even better. That way, there's no waste whatsoever.

Hopefully the next vid doesn't include coriander. That herb is just abhorrent. And yes believe it or not there are a lot of people who don't like it. It overpowers everything else and in my experience ruins otherwise awesome food.
