This brought tears in my eyes. The way he was shouting out to the olive harvesters reminded me of when I was little back home (Greece. Some of my uncles had land in the village and we used to go there all the time to harvest the grapes, make wine, olive oil. This is how my uncle used to loudly greet the villagers and we'd have massive feasts together. I remember running around, cutting and eating grapes when everyone was busy working: D And when it was strawberry season I used to pick them up and sometimes eat them without even rinsing them. My auntie used to make artisan cheese from her cows, and used to hang it out in the patio so that it strained. In the night time we used to sleep outside on folding beds.

I know Gennero is a really good cook. But i hate when tv chefs top the finished dish with bunched up herbs on top, just to make the dish look good for the camera. I see so many celebrity chefs garnish a dish with a little leaf of parsley on top, then when they go to taste the dish, they eat around the raw, fresh, herb. Dont put herbs on top of your dish for the sake of making the dish look good for the camera. Instead, cook with the herbs. Most celebrity chefs think garnish means to top a dish with an herb to make it look good. No, garnish just means its a side of the main thing on the plate. If you plate steak and potatoes, the potatoes will be the garnish.

Uhm at 2: 40 he takes the pan of the heat and puts it on the board then when he turns around it's back on the stove and when he puts the pasta in the pan is on the flame as well. i am not sure if i should take it off the flame for a bit or leave it on while the pasta is cooking. I really wanna try this but i am not sure about how long to cook things. im not very experienced with cooking so things like measures and timing are really important to me. A bit of help pls.

He better be in Tuscany for another food/travel combination show. I loved Two Greedy Italians! (So sad about Antonio. What is so great for him is that all he has to do is find a few ingredients that go together well, saute them with garlic and chili, pick a pasta shape, and he's got a new recipe video he can make! And that's not a criticism, that's the beauty of pasta.

Panzano is auch a lovely place. Seeing you cooking there makes me want to return there immediately. Especially to Officina della Bistecca. I'll start by making that delicious pasta. Thank you for your recipes and the joy that you spread with your videos. They are so much fun and so helpful and always get me excited to start cooking. Thank you.

To all the TV chefs who cook pasta in the pan together with the sauce: YES THIS TASTES GREAT, BUT THE AMOUNT OF PASTA I CAN PREPARE IN ONE BATCH THIS WAY IS NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO FEED MYSELF MOST OF THE TIME.

Apart from the love fest, porcini mushrooms are apparently the healthiest mushrooms in the world and only grow in Italy; don't throw the soaking water away makes a wicked stock for mushroom soup. Fantastic video.
