It's about time for some sizzling, comforting stew, isn't it? How about sundubu-jjigae? It's hot, spicy, filling, comforting, delicious, soft tofu stew and has many reasons to be one of the most popular items in Korean restaurants. Enjoy my recipe, and let me know if you make this! Take a photo and send it to me!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I ate this at a Royal Korean Restaurant here in Australia where everything is cooked from scratch - fresh and natural. It has been over 5 years searching for something like it since they closed. It was the best stew I ever had with raw egg, seafood and mushrooms with a side of kimchi and rice. I have never been able to forget the most delicious meal. I have tried endlessly to find another version like it but have failed until now! I am so grateful for this! True Korean food is a joy!

For Lockdown(2020, it came out beautifully.
I used chicken xo cubes, 'cubetti Di pancetta', and firm tofu. Skipped on the salt.
I specifically looked up soft tofu soup on youtube, but couldn't flipping find soft tofu in town!
I want the silky goodness!
Any who, I am well happy,
My thanks.

I am so lucky that I live near Korean Town in Osaka, Japan coz i can easily get all the ingredients from the stores! I made this and it was the best jjigae I've ever had!
realized that homemade is better than store bought one.
Thanks for sharing your recipe maangchi

This is my favorite dish to order at my local korean restaurant but I had gallbladder surgery about a month ago and since I'm still recovering I can't eat it because it's too spicy! T3T
I'm tempted to make a non spicy version but it's just not the same.

Maangchi when you make Bokchoy salad there's some chili paste on your finger. My nice came and watched that and started to crying thinking that you cut your finger and that's blood. It took me half hour to calm her down. that's some experience for me.

Everything look amazing! But for me a sundubujjigae must have clams and shrimps too, it gives so speacial flavor and thats why is one my favorite. Anyway the recipe helped me to get a great broth. Thank you!

Hi can anyone help me with this question please?
I bought dried seaweed for soup instead of kelp. Could I be able to replace kelp with the seaweed?

Maangchi, you embody the most wonderful things about South Korea. Thanks for your incredible videos. I can't wait to try making this myself.
