Koreans say there are almost two hundreds kinds of kimchi, but today I'm adding 1 more! Blessing: I just made this today, it's so good! Thank you maangchi. because of Pandemic caused by covid -19, we are directed to stay at home and avoid going out, so to avoid eating junk meal, i researched more about korean food which mostly are fermented (very healthy for digestion. This is one of the healthy recipes that can last for a couple of days. I also made Radish and Cabbage kimchi courtesy of your videos.

Ahhh, Maangchi, I love all your recipes and have been following you for a while now, but THIS caught my attention. Chayote Kimchi sounds delicious and as always, you break it down so it's simple, totally doable, and with great results. I cannot wait to try to make this fusion dish. I love how you Mexicanized a Korean dish. or Koreanized a traditionally Mexican ingredient? LOL You are AWESOME!

Maangchi! I love your recipes. I love kimchi too, I have used your emergency kimchi recipe before years ago and I enjoyed it very much but most of the time I buy store bought kimchi. due to the current virus situation it is hard to buy kimchi anywhere! I'll make this chayote kimchi some time this week!
Quick question, is it ok to add in daikon radish with chayote too?

I am growing this for the first time in my garden. I can't wait to harvest some fruit and make your recipe! If there are any gardeners out there all you have to do is buy a chayote, wait for it to make a sprout and put it in the ground and it will grow. Lots of how to videos out there. Thanks so much Maangghi!

I live in California and when i was little we had a Chayote plant and my mom would boil them. My favorite part was the seed. We called it the Luna meaning moon. It was so good

chayote needs to be peeled first. the skin is very fiberous. the seed however is soft and edible, but if you want it removed you can just pull it out with your fingers.
