150-kilogram Bluefin Tuna Cutting Event The other day I went to a tuna cutting event where a very big 150 kg bluefin tuna was butchered in a live event to promote a restaurant called Los Pescadores the big fish came from a company in barbate called Pescados Castro they caught the big fish with fishing rod near Cadiz. Jane: I can't count how many times I gutted a whole 50 or 60 lbs tuna every time my husband goes fishing. The best part of the tuna is the jaw and the whole head. Cut the head into half, seasoned it with salt and pepper and grilled it fresh. And while cutting the tuna I had a wasabi paste with soy sauce prepared on the side. Cut, eat, cut, eat. It was very tiring but enjoyable.

Good idea; bad execution. This may be how they do it commercially but this a public demo -the focus should have been on style and appeal. For starters -the blood should have been drained, the guts removed and it should have been fresh to minimize the smell. Also having it slip around on floor while guys hack at it looks crude; on a table/rack and surrounded by fancy knives would have been better. Cooking some up in a paella or a local dish and then offering some to the crowd for like a dollar would have been a nice touch.

love this! no matter how graphic this video is, i'm sure it's how food gets on the table! it gives you a greater appreciation for the food and also the work people do. at least, that's how i feel. also, i'd prob cut myself 10 different times with that knife if i tried what that guy was doing so overall consider me impressed: ) thanks for filming this!

Im tired of people saying im gonna send this to my vegan friends this would make vegans angry theres nothing wrong with not wanting to eat meat or dairy, ur just assuming there gonna get angry cause they see a dead fish. Well NEWS FLASH theres dead things everywhere, they know everybody has a different opinion so u shouldnt make fun of theirs

After seeing a tuna properly broken down by someone from Japan. this exhibition seemed to really fit the less than complimentary definition of 'butchering'. Their knives never seemed overly sharp and when one took out a steel, it seems a wasted effort. Sloppy, wasteful, embarrassing. I began to feel sorry for the tuna. :(

comparing with the guys from Tsukiji, this guys looks like beginners. missing skills and tools. Is obviously not first time cutting a fish but is not pleasant to watch. is not about being graphic. the guys in video want to have the fish cut in pieces regardless the method. I could not see a single clean cut in entire video.

Although this was not as effective and cleaner the cut as how the Japanese handle the tuna, perhaps this is how other countries do things differently which makes it interesting. nevertheless, great amazing footage!

Watching them slipping and sliding on the bloody tarp, while trying to maneuver a 330lb fish carcass and while wielding razor sharp sabres, gave me anxiety. I was holding my breath in fear of them falling on their faces

I cant believe people still think its weird to know where your food comes from and how its prepared. Comments like, Why are kids there? It makes me blankly stare at the camera like this is an episode of The Office and smh

the knife seems to lose its edge rather quickly, shouldn't he sharpening or at least honing it more often? you can always hammer a nail down using a pair of pliers, but having the best tool for the job.
