The first one is really dense, about 90 seconds between bites, if not longer, as that is a very crunchy salad and those vegetables are not easy to chew up like lettuce and tomatoes, ham, grated cheese, celery, bok choy, crispy bacon, grated cheese, and various oranges segments, your favorite dressing, and make an interesting and satisfying Chef's Salad, you can even use chicken if you want to. Use scissors to cut up the vegetables and tomato, celery, romaine lettuce almost an entire head, That salad I liked my friend used to make: Waldorf Salad. Actually those vegetables you first made would be easier to eat if they were all softened with some steam, then eaten, maybe with a little oil and vinegar, and some salt and pepper, although I am not particularly fond of salt and pepper on my Chef's Salad.

You make your chicken salad a lot like my mom made her various meat salads. She would vary the veggies according to the season or whatever she had on hand. (Celery was the most commonly used veggie) As far as fruit, she most often used apples. (sometimes navel orange segments or canned mandarin orange segments) Another thing she did, which I rarely see anywhere else, was to add finely chopped dill pickles. She liked the sweet & sour flavor contrast. And. Pecans were always added. This recipe was interchangeable with chicken, ham, & tuna. It was always a summertime favorite for our family.

I watch you all the time, just wanted to say i love your hair long. Looks really pretty on you. Niw back to cooking would you mund doing some like 1929 hard times forgotten foods. I've been watching a lot of Depression era recipes i find it amazing how the wonderful women came up with recipes with no eggs or milk, it could really help people on a financial depression 2025. Anyway it's just a thought. Thanks Dee

If I lived in TX. or you in AZ, and we met, we'd be BFF's! I feel like you're in my head sometimes while watching your videos and listening to your confession, ha ha ha! I will eat something for weeks because I crave it. Then I won't eat it for months because I'm on to something else. It's usual during lunch, or midnight because my family is one and done. They don't even like leftovers most of the time.

I am absolutely so jealous. All salads look so good. Unfortunately I had to lose all my teeth due to a medication I had taken and apparently people would kill for my bone structure. Such strong bone they can't seem to be able to make a new set of teeth unless or until I have a surgery to shave the bone down which would mean I would be on a liquid diet for 9 months to a year.

I love these! They look delicious. Do you know how to make the Mexican cabbage salad I don't know the ingredients but I do know that there is carrots, lemon and oregano. It's been years since I've had it but the restaurant where I would buy it at, sadly closed.

You are right. In the summer I discovered from a friend online raw vegetable dressed salads. I already knew cucumber onion of course. I put jarred red wine vinaigrette on mine now that you can get it again. But any simple oil-based vinaigrette will do.

My body craves weird things. I listen to it. Beets. I didn't know beet greens are full of magnesium. Hmmm. Maybe her body is telling her something too. I don't use salad dressing. Crunch Away Baby. On your side.

I do my chicken salad similarly. I also add a little lemon juice and vinegar and honey. And I will put a very scant pinch of curry powder. nothing really noticeable.

For years I would only use a French baguette for the chicken salad and I would just take a piece and spread it on. I also like it on ciabatta. Or just bread.
