Butter crusted pancakes are my favorite way to make pancakes. Whether you are making the batter from scratch or using the just add water boxed mix from the store, these are elite! I'm not reinventing the wheel for pancakes, but I had to share this easy recipe. Ingredients 1 cup self-rising flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 cup sugar 1 large egg 1 cup milk 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 2 Tbsp melted butter extra unsalted butter for griddle Grime's Harper's BAZAAR interview Eater's Phonecia Diner Video (The best pancakes in New York Features in the show Severance) The best pancakes to make at midnight Late Night Recipes Pancakes for two people

I too love the crispy edge! And you used what I consider my biggest secret in making delicious pancakes. Some vanilla extract! You wouldn’t think something that ordinary would make such a huge difference. But it sure does! I have also learned that if I am cheating and using Bisquick, that I need to let the Bisquick completely hydrate in the liquid. And sometimes I get all fancy and add graded, lemon zest and blueberries. But that’s only if I’m being fancy. Or, if I actually have blueberries.

I'm weird. I don't like syrup, any kind of syrup, on pancakes, just butter. Syrup seems like overkill to me. My favorite pancake meal Over easy eggs with bacon & pancakes. I like to dip bites of pancakes in the runny egg yolks. Yummy!
Edit: Pancakes fried in bacon grease are truly next level if you're like me & don't eat them with syrup.

For the same reason you like the butter crusted pancake, I like a proper Belgian waffle. More edges to love. But I'm really too lazy to make them from scratch and years ago there was a good box mix for them but no more. Some of the mixes are terrible.

You are totally gorgeous! My son just had an extremely long day yesterday at a sports tournament and asked if I would make waffles this morning I am using this recipe instead though and I don’t think he’ll be mad about it

Love Butter crusted pancakes make a similar mix but use buttermilk instead of regular milk, and they have to made on cast iron either my cast iron comal or a cast iron skillet, makes them even more crispy.

these are the pancakes i grew up with and was so surprised when i realized that not everyone ate them like this at home lol. i thought diner style without the crunchy edges were only made at diners

I made flour tortillas for the second time last night (using your instructions this time) and pancakes this morning! Thank you! I enjoy your content and no nonsense presentation of how you do it!

Hair down is a flattering look! And enjoying the humorous editing! I always loved the crispy edges when the first pour of batter drops into hot butter /or avocado oil.

Looks so good! It’s almost midnight and considering a trip to the kitchen!
For the souffle pancakes, how much sugar and cream of tartar did you use

I made green pancakes for st Patrick’s day, and I just pureed the water with baby spinach. They were so green! You couldn’t even taste the spinach.

One of the chefs at the IHOP near my house does this and I sent them back. I like them but when I go on certain places don't change the recipe.

FYI be sure to put the oil or butter in the dough, a buddy and I didn't and we had sponge pancakes that soaked up all the syrup you poured on them

I think you look great in your videos. However, your hair looks fabulous in that style! BTW, pancakes with lots of butter are the best!
