If you would brown the meatballs, it would not only make them look better, but add extra flavor.
I understand not browning them, when raising a family sometimes you just want the easy way. I've done it many times when my children were small= too much on your plate.

ive tried to make this so many times and failed to the point that my hubby wont try it anymore. im curious now, is there such a thing as too much rice in the meat balls or is it because i make the balls like meatloaf rather then just meat and rice

My favorite soup of all time. I’ve never made it but I’ve loved it forever. Now that you shared your recipe, I will be making it as soon as it gets a little colder. I’m in southern AZ so it could be awhile

Looks good. Probably will make it soon. Appropriate for cold weather. I mean for real cold weather like -17 Celsius in Canada. But I am not complaining. I will wait for -25 C to start complaining.

I'm surprised that the meatballs held together with just rice and seasoning. As an Italian, egg, grated cheese, and bread crumbs are mandatory as binders. Thank you, I learned something!

If it's one thing I've learned, it's to not use the chili soaking liquid! Evil stuff. Bitter as a bad divorce. Do yourself a huge favor and use chicken stock instead. In any recipe!

Looks delish! When you squeezed that lime into the pot my mouth watered lol You’re right, this is a perfect rainy day or cold weather soup! Thanks for sharing! ENJOY!

For those that want an added bonus for this soup as an accompaniment you should all try this cooks flour tortilla recipe and video. They come out perfect.

Gotta say, you don't look old enough to be making this soup for over 30 years. Anyway, the soup looks delicious-I like how it's packed with veggies.

Yummy but you forgot the tortilla de maiz in your hand as you eat El Caldo (sopa) Avocado in all the soups just takes it to another level

This dish reminds me of an Ottolenghi recipe - spiced meatballs freekeh stew. I’d definitely give this recipe a try. It looks too good!

My first exposure to albondigas was at Grenada’s in Burbank amazing! Never had it that good again. So I’m absolutely going to try this!

I have made a couple versions of this soup, but this one looks so much more authentic. Love that addition of the guajillo pepper sauce.

Thia is similar to how my mother in law makes it. I am so happy you do not use eggs in the meatballs. Thank you for sharing.
