Here is a video of one of the many ways I like to make gorditas. Of all the ways, this is my favorite. I love chorizo con papas. Whether it is tacos or gorditas, I love it. I used store bought chorizo, but you can definitely make your own. I will leave the link below. Makes 8-10 gorditas. INGREDIENTS 4 medium potatoes 9 oz chorizo MASA 2 cups Maseca (corn flour) 1/2 tsp salt 2 tbls lard 2 cups hot water (have extra in case dough starts to dry out) SALSA 6 Korean green peppers 6 dried chile arbol 3 to 5 cloves garlic 1 small onion salt to taste

My mother in law made these but cut slices into them & filled them with beans & cheese rather than adding it to the dough along with whatever she had leftover like you did. She passed away recently and I miss her so so very much! When my own mum died she came to fill the void left & while we had always been close that's when we became nearly inseparable. One of my most favorite ever people on the face of this earth. That woman could cook like crazy & make a feast from an assortment of scraps. I love Gorditas!

I have a question for you all. I have made gorditas probably about 9! times already. I made this recipe tonight and it was the best mass texture so far. My question is. when u cut the gordita with the knife to stuff them, is the knife supposed to come out clean because mine always comes out with mass on it even if I leave the Gordita on the grill for forever. Help please.

The only gorditas I've ever had were delicious, and the potatoes and chorizo were inside with the beans and cheese, probably because it was street food. I bartended at the time and the guys would come in with their coolers filled with foil wrapped gorditas and they would leave with emptied coolers every time. I'm going to try to make some, thanks for your recipe.

Felicidades, EXCELENTE!

I ve never seen mixing bowls with that dented-textured look on the inside. Very unique. May I ask where you got them? I can t seem to find them online. (Believe it or not. ) What store did u get them from. If u can recall? Thank you!

Hi, I am loving all your recipes! I have been cooking for years but tamales and gorditas I have always intimidated me. My question is. If I buy masa from the Torrillarilla do I add manteca? Thank you for all your great recipes.

I am so glad to see you peel your potatoes the same way I do! It may seem silly, but I've had so much criticism for using a knife and peeling toward my thumb. This recipe is on my list to do this week. Much appreciated
