Today I am making the popular trend Dalgona coffee but with out instant coffee. This is for my viewers that want to try this but do not have instant coffee available. Angie: I can help you, I have been making coffee like this for over 40 years. First you need a old fashion espresso stove top maker and you need the beginning of the espresso as soon as it starts to foaming out, if you wait when it all comes out it s to late just the beginning. It is probably a few tablespoons. Then match it with sugar and whip away. That is a old Italian way of whipped coffee. Been making it all my life no instant coffee for me

I had a few struggles but after redoing it for an hour I finally made it, so I just want give a few tips incase you have the same struggles as me. 1. Boiling: when you boil it, It will get foamy and you just need to blow it down or reduce the heat. (When this happened to me I thought it was done, so I took it out and started mixing. But no, It does not mean its done) 2. When is it done? : You know it's done when it's thick and yoh have to use a spatula to get the extra off of the pan, also when the foam just wont stop rising no matter what you do. It took me 5-10 minutes for this stage to be done btw. 3. HoW mUcH SuGaR dO I UsE: it doesnt matter how much sugar you put in. I just reccomend putting 2 tbsp or more. The sugar i used was, C&H pure sugar cane, and Morena pure cane sugar, since I was running out. (Oh btw I put 1 tbsp of sugar in my pan, and 2 tbsp of sugar in my bowl) 4. Do I need a glass bowl? : When I mixed it I used a plastic bowl and an electric mixer, and it still works. You dont need a glass bowl but it's probably faster. If you have any question that I didnt answer, please just ask and I'll try to respond. Although I'm not a professional so my answers and tips are based off of my experience making it. :)

A few questions for anyone who cares to answer: 1. Will a powdered sugar substitute (ie, Splenda) work instead of sugar? (for diabetics) 2. Will instant espresso work as well as regular instant coffee? 3. Could the milk foamer whisk be used to start the process, then move to regular whisk as mixture becomes too thick? Also, I ve heard it is common in places in the Middle East, where this type of coffee was apparently first developed, that they often put the foam into the glass first, then pour the milk over it; it makes a drink similar to a cappuccino. Thanks for all the effort you put into this brewed process, but I think for this 70 yr. old, the instant coffee is the way to go!

Why do you make it so hard on yourself and do it by hand when I believe 90% of people do have a basic hand mixer. You can get one for as low as 20 so no excuse not to have it. Whipping by hand is unnecessary unless you want to show off your stamina and have too much time on your hands but for video purposes you would definitely do better with a mixer. ;-) Also instead of reducing if afterwards, would making stronger coffee in the first place safe time? More coffee and less water when brewing of just make an espressor if you have the machine or the pot to do it. ;-) Easy peazy.

I watched this video because I don't like instant coffee. Also, I'm doing Keto, so I substituted a stevia/lakanto combo instead. I only used 1 1/2 tsp of both, because I've tried the whipped coffee with 2 T and the instant coffee, and I didn't like it at all. I boiled the coffee like Simply Mama Cooks, and then whipped it, and it turned out fine for me. Then, today, I made a SF version of a coffee frappe and added the whipped coffee to the top, OMG, I've found my go to summer drink! Thank you for finding a way to make this without instant coffee!

This was a process but it paid off for sure. Mine was really turning out syrupy and not getting very foam like. After reducing it and whisking it for awhile I ended up adding little splashes of hot water with some sugar dissolved into it. That seemed to loosen it up a bit and get back to the foamy likeness. The foam wasn t holding up the best so I chilled it in the freezer for a about 5 minutes and whisked it again and that seemed to give it a little more integrity. Thanks for basically breaking ground on this. Your video really helped.

So I'm really not trying to be a hater (I gave you a thumbs up for all your hard work and effort, but when coffee is continually heated to make a concentrate like you made here, it's like your continuing to roast the essential oils and extractives within the beans, which is going to develop a lot of not-great-tasting notes(bitterness, sour potentially depending on the roast, etc. I'm glad it worked for you buuuut I'm GUESSING your coffee didn't taste nearly as good as it could have.

I would think it would be kind of like making whipped cream. You get better results using cold bowl Metal bowl from kitchen aid mixer stuck in freezer till super cold. Chill the coffee simple syrup, once chilled take bowl out of freezer and put the coffee syrup into bowl and mix. If it doesn't work add in heavy whipping cream and just mix those together as people suggested.

I wondered if you use powdered sugar since its not granulated if it would work better? Also another video said add more sugar and put it in the fridge because he couldn't get it to froth either (but that was using instant coffee still. You can also add a little heavy cream instead of water or just use half the water? I'll have to test out a few things myself.

Omg you DO NOT need that much sugar! I've done this with two tablespoons and a half for a two cups of coffee. You could and probably should use minimum two tablespoons you dont use as much coffee. If you use as much sugar as she did itll taste disgustingly sweet and it's very unhealthy and will make your body feel gross because of the overload of sugar.
