I cook, my wife does not. I have a few buddies who are dating or have married gals from Latin countries. They cook, I am talking really cooking like this, from recipes that have been handed down through their families. I am jealous as hell. I like to eat great food, so I cook. You can taste the love in certain food where the person making it cares about the ingredients and the preparation. That is one thing that is dying in America with the majority of families. Their family food traditions are being replaced with store bought crap and eating out when they want something special. The most special meals should come from the heart and from your home.

Just saw your video yummy! Brings back old memories too for me! I grew up in the Valley, Edinburgh, dad actually went to the slater house where they would throw all the inners away! Crazy hu! I was a farm girl and we ate everything. Mom would clean the cow head and cook the whole head in the oven. The house would smell like a place! I still remember those smells. We would share our prize with my grandparents who lived next door. It was a feast of fresh Barbados, celentro, chopped onions, fresh tomato avacado and moms favorite chili pecin. Dont know if I'm spelling these things right but you get it enjoyed your video! You rock!

I have made this recipe twice both times with the Rumba brand Cachete de Res. I will preference this next comment with, I like fat However, the last cheekmeat I used was 75% fat. Previously, I used a recipe that called for cheap chuck roast wrapped in foil and roasted in the oven. That method didn't have enough fat. Next time I am going to buy a chuck pot roast and use the Cachete de Res together.

Fresh tortillas, made the south Texas way, and barbacoa that cooked all night. Available early in the morning on Saturday or Sunday all over south Texas, we used to eat it for breakfast. On mine add salt, cilantro and onion, and avocado. Rich flavorful meat. I have only had the pure cheek meat style, and have been warned of the mixed style.

New sub!
