Today I am cooking at home and baking a cheesy tomato pie. A slice of this savory butter pie with a fresh side salad makes an easy delicious meal. Ingredients 2 medium to large tomatoes 2 cups shredded cheese of your choice 3/4 cup mayonnaise 1 Tbsp fresh basil 1 tsp fresh oregano 1 1/2 tsp dried chives 1/2 tsp dried thyme 1/2 tsp dried rosemary 1/4 tsp dried parsley 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp onion powder 9 inch baked and cooled pie crust 8-inch pie plate PIE CRUST 1 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 5 Tbsp salted butter 2 to 3 Tbsp cold water

That looks wonderful. I have never had tomato pie but with the ingredients that are in it sounds great. I will try this. I have been following along for awhile now. Just want to say I love your recipes and you explain everything so well. My son cooks Mexican food better than I do and I cook Asian food better than he does. We will meet in the middle here.

I think you're a great teacher. And your voice is calming like therapy I got hired into psychiatry with no experience but good x education in other medical Fields because of my voice. She said it was slow and low and psych patients need that to calm down LOL that women with high squeaky voices make crazy people crazier

I have never chilled pie dough from scratch. I have done this before in the past. Great reaction from everyone who ate it. I did not put any salt on the tomatoes though. I used dried herbs. I used some dough for a crust top, but I used much of what you had for seasoning along with the mayo and cheese. It was great!

I made one of these last year & don't even remember who's recipe I used! lol VERY similar & wow was it tasty. Guess I better look for that recipe in my HUGE stack. OR I can just make yours! hahaha It seems like an odd pie but trust me folks- SO yummy! :D

I was literally just talking to my bf about how excited I was about my heirloom tomato plant! I haven't had this since I was a kid and my parents had a fully stocked garden.

Your pie looks wonderful, thanks for sharing. If you plant your own chives they will last forever. they are indestructible. The only thing I can't kill! LOL.

I made this today. I microwaved some fresh spinach and chopped green onions and put them under the tomatoes. It was delicious!
