Today I am cooking at home and making crunchy spicy fried chicken. This recipe is easy and delicious. The crust in extra crunchy and the buttermilk marinade makes the chicken juicy and tender. Ingredients 2 1/2 to 3 lbs ( 1. 13 to 1. 36 kg ) bone-in chicken pieces 2 cups (473 ml) buttermilk 1/2 cup (118 ml) Louisiana hot sauce 2 Tbsp spice mix (ingredients below) 2 1/2 cups (265 g) all-purpose flour 1 tsp cayenne pepper 2 large eggs 1/4 cup (60 ml) water (I used Topo Chico) cooking oil for frying SPICE MIX 1 Tbsp seasoning salt 1 Tbsp chicken bouillon powder 2 tsp chicken poultry seasoning blend 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp paprika (or sub for cayenne pepper for extra spice)

You make it look so easy. If my chicken looks good on the outside, it usually has blood by the bone. If it is almost burnt, it is usually done on the inside but not as juicy as what I like. It is hit or miss for me frying chicken. I usually just spatchcock them put them on the grill and they come out great. My Mother could fry chicken and it was perfect but I guess she did not pass that gene on to me. :-) This chicken of yours looks awesome. I can't eat chicken with blood by the bone. it just turns me off right now. Thanks, going to try this. I did your chicken strips like this the other day and they were perfect. Honey and hot sauce is a very good mix. Thanks.

LOVE fried chicken. who doesn't. looking forward to try your recipe. Have you ever used mayo in the marinade process instead of buttermilk - it's also good. May I ask what kind of mic do you use? does it plug into your camera or its a stand alone mic? Your voice is always so nice and clear and the background noise hardly heard. Thanks

Yummy fried chicken. I make mine very much the same way but I tone down the spices a little and I usually don't marinate. I may have to try that sometime. Does it add flavor, moistness or maybe both? Thanks for sharing, you do a fantastic job with the videos. I always enjoy watching and usually learn something. Take care.

Same with me. I'm making fried chicken and people are loving it. We made your last fried chicken tenders the one with honey and everyone loved it.

Great recipe! One tip: if you double-coat the chicken, chill it in the fridge after each coating. Makes the crust deliciously thick and crunchy.

Would it make any difference if you mix the eggs in the brine overnight just to skip one step and then coat the chicken with flour right after?
