If the world ran out of Twinkies. I would make this! Today I am making Twinkies cupcakes. The use of store-bought ingredients makes this easier, but homemade from scratch works as well.
Ingredients
1 box of yellow cake mix
3 large eggs plus 3 large egg whites
1 cup (236. 5 ml) whole milk
1/3 cup (78 ml) cooking oil
CREAM FILLING
double the ingredients if making 24 cupcakes
7 oz (200 g) marshmallow fluff
6 Tbsp (85 g) softened salted butter
2/3 cup (80 g) powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp (30 ml) heavy cream
Juliette: I recently bought Twinkies for my kids for the first time, after waxing poetically about one of my favorite childhood treats. It was surprisingly disappointing and I don t know if it always tasted that way and if my youthful tastebuds weren t very discerning, or if they changed the recipe.
