Today, I am making one of my favorite potato dishes. I can eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ingredients 8 oz gold potatoes 1 small onion 6 to 7 slices of thick cut bacon 1 cup water salt and pepper to taste Susan: So excited to see you make this skillet meal! This was one of my Mother s favorites. I play with it and sometimes add leftover ham or sausage. I also like to add a can of petite diced tomatoes, and for a real stretch, add in a cup of cornmeal breaded okra.

This is funny. My son had just finished making his version of this for his dinner when I saw your video. He does bacon, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. He first started making this on our black stone. Then, when we were having issues with it, he started making it in a skillet. Now he does it on a small sheet pan in our French door air fryer. This is the first thing he learned to cook, and has it about once a week. We all have it occasionally, but he is picky. If we are having something he doesn t care for for dinner, he makes this.

i don't like how the iron skillet makes everything stick. the best part is stuck to the bottom. i would definitely use a non-sticik skillet for this recipe. cleaning a cast iron skillet with all that stuck to the bottom is a nightmare.

YES! Potatoes and onions in bacon grease anytime. If you want to take it up a notch, put that cast-iron skillet outside over a smoky wood fire about 4: 00am. The angels in heaven will desend to dine with you.

I eat (pan-cooked) potatoes with sliced onions and sliced peppers (at least once a week. I use avocado oil, butter and full-flavored chicken stock. I like your recipe, so I will try it next time. Yum

Hi A! Your potatoes look tasty. I just could never get my potatoes cooked right. I don't know why. I always had good cookware too. Im going to give yours, minus the bacon a try. YUMS! Great video.

My mother made something similar. It was just taters and onions. She called them German or skillet potatoes. It was just me and her, and this dish brings warm memories of a great mom.

If you choose not to use the bacon USE THE BACON GREASE! I have been making these for 50 years. My family begs me to make them when I am at their house! The bacon grease is a must!

This looks so good. My only change would be to cut the potatoes in thinner slices so they will have a better chance to get really crispy. Yummy.

I make these kinds of taters often, they're really good with eggs. edit: The only thing I do differently is I like lots of garlic with mine.

Just made these. YUM! I love how your recipes use staples that I have in my kitchen and you always encourage us to use what we have.

I would add a pinch of 'comino' - love the flavor comino gives to potatoes - maybe some grated cheese at the end (fire turned off.

This reminds me of my grandma, she was my babysitter, while my mother worked. I m 71 now, and still use everything she taught me

Come on man. I was craving fried potatoes, but with sausage instead of bacon. Also I add a hit of crushed red pepper
