If I'm not mistaken. it's what we call ikan Gabus (Snakehead Fish) in Indonesia, we use it in several kind of dishes, sometimes it's also use as salted fish here in Indonesia. Next time you visit Jakarta, look for Pecak Gabus, it's a type of Betawi cuisine

As i watch this vlog i got nostalgic i watched mark since highschool till iam a working man i dont know how many years or since when or why i watch the vlog. I just comment bc a comment got me felt like this and watch mark and his family grow up together with us. truly felt like long distance family.

Mark, for your info, in Malaysia among the Chinese, we love marble goby as the best river water fishes, it s very meaty, no small bones; the wild boar curry is delicious; all the food you or Ying ordered are super yummy. I love your vlogs. Keep it up!

Marble goby is one of the best fish meat in the freshwater. Other freshwater fish cannot compare it. We Chinese call it Soon Hock. Best is deep-fried or steam it.
