Along with being a meat and beef ribs paradise, Makassar is known around Indonesia for its seafood. Today we re going on an ultimate Indonesian seafood tour in Makassar, from the market to the best seafood restaurant in town. Lelong Paotere - If you love seafood markets, this is about as good as it gets. The days fresh catch is sprawled throughout the market and you ll find exotic seafood of all kinds. This is a perfect way to start an Indonesian seafood tour. Warung Pangkep - To taste the fresh seafood we headed to a local restaurant, that among with other things is well known for their ikan bolu bakar, or grilled monkfish - a delicacy. Kepala Ikan Mappanyuki - Next up I went to a legendary restaurant that s known for their Kepala Ikan - fish head soup. Sari Laut Mbak Atun - Finally, I went to eat the best seafood in Makassar, maybe one of the best seafood restaurants in Indonesia! From prawns with stink beans to many varieties of grilled fish with sambal, and black ink squid, this is a seafood paradise.

Mark, the first fish you had should be a type of trevally. As for the milkfish, normally they cut it into two, and let the customers choose the middle section with head portion, or middle section with tail portion. Some divide into three, head, midsection and tail. I personally feel that you should have gone for the head portion, as the head is oily, and the portion also contains some fat from the belly.

Same expression for every food throughout life, never can guess which food is good or bad food by looking at your expression. Whatever you eat, you ummm with your mouth. We get bored. Do you never get bored with these expressions? We expect an honest review from a world-class blogger like you.

Mark I know you've never been to Medan, North Sumatra. It's known as another food paradise in Indonesia. You need to visit it and there are variations of dishes including Chinese, Batak, Malay, Indian and Aceh foods.

All Indonesian food bloggers are frauds and liars. They made up stories about places where the food was said to be legendary and the president's favorite was just for marketing.

WoW wish we had markets like that here. Instead, we have food deserts and seafood is costly and waters tightly controlled. Takes the joy out of Living free.

I think mbak atun is east java person, from her language n dialect. Also from name her warung, sari laut, it's originally from Lamongan east java city.
