oh yes, bubur ashura (ashura porridge or pudding) are popular dishes among malay communities in SEA to make in specific time in islamic calendar. legend has it that prophet noah make this kind or porridge when he and his followers descending from the ark after the great flood. they put in food that they can find in one cauldron (wheat, rice, corn, spices, meat, fish) thus making a savoury pudding.

Im so freaking addicted to Mark Wiens s videos that I honestly can not eat my food without watching one of his videos. And i have made my own food watching zones according to the items I m eating while watching. For example if it s hardcore Bbq that I m gonna eat, imma head straight to Mark s middle eastern and African ventures. Or if it s sea food it s gotta be East Asian Vlogs that I m gonna watch

I think Fish head curry is a great dish that is a myriad of textures and flavors. what is exciting is the unique experience of combining it with the fermented durian that sets this area and the Malaysian border apart from the rest of the Malay areas. Gosh Mark! This Combination is something to list down and yearn for!

You know it's going to be great when you cook coconut milk and it reduces to a cream consistency. The feast is absolutely amazing looking. I can only imagine the taste. Delicious. More than the food, the hospitality from the family cannot be denied here.

Great! That is my favorite food Mark. We also cook fish head curry in Padang. We add some shred of unripe pineapple (green pineapple)+ bunch of bird eye chili, its give a hot and soft sour to curry.
