One of the most famous restaurants in Jakarta to eat Chinese style bakso (meatballs) is Bakso Akiaw 99, located in Mangga Besar, Jakarta. Across Asia, from Taiwan to Thailand, Im a big fan of beef noodles. And also, so long as the beef meatballs are all one hundred percent beef, I also really enjoy Chinese style meatballs. One of the most legendary restaurants to eat the Chinese style of bakso in Jakarta is a restaurant called Bakso Akiaw 99, originally from Medan, Sumatra. From the moment the restaurant opens in the afternoon, it remains busy throughout the evening and night. They have a nice picture menu, and you can choose to order a variety of different beef soup dishes included beef meatballs, mixed organs, and slices of beef. Ying and I ordered a mix of dishes, and to accompany the beef soups I also had a bowl of mie, yellow thick noodles. The noodles were wonderfully chewy and garlicky. The beef was salty and flavorful, and the meatballs had a nice bouncy texture to them. Bakso Akiaw 99, located in the Manga Besar area of Jakarta (an area that has a strong Chinese and Medan influence, is a must visit restaurant when youre in Jakarta for bakso. Bakso Akiaw 99 Address: Jalan Mangga Besar Raya No. 2B, Kec. Tamansari, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta, Indonesia Open hours: 3 pm - 11: 30 pm daily Jakarta Travel Guide of Food Lovers

That bakso doesn't look very good. The broth looks extremely watery. I guess it's because it's a different kind of bakso. I suggest you to eat at small bakso carts which was really common in Jakarta. They're generally better than those big places. But the best place to find bakso was not in Jakarta. It's in Yogyakarta. They've got the best bakso there. I have my own personal favorite. It was a small tent in front of a small alley/road called Jl. Dagen. I believe it's called Bakso Pak Gareng. They're usually open until lunch time. But i don't know if it's still open. That's been my family's favorite since a really long time. Anyway, enjoy your visit Mark

But I can't stop watching you eat You make everything look so wonderful and I know if I tried this stuff I would puke for sure LOL But I am with you on loving noodles, one of my very fav foods. I wish I could be more like you and loving street foods in foreign countries. I do love Asian food and all types of American and European foods. I'm a real fan, hooked on watching you enjoy food.

Hei Mark I will try to explain what is inside the mixed beef bowl (2: 35, there I think you have a beef meat, babat (inside parts of cow stomach, urat (cow's vein) and I think maybe you also had some sengkel over there (I don't really know how it said in English. Maybe cow's shank / shin, and of course the bakso (cow meat ball. Anyway, bakso is one of iconic & delicious food in Indonesia Oh, and Barrack Obama likes it too very much

Not the best or authentic Indonesian meatballs (Bakso) but looks like you loved it. Thank you. For the tastiest Bakso in Jakarta I recommend Bakso Lapangan Tembak Senayan or Bakso Gunung Kidul, at only-open-at-night market in front of TMP Kalibata (National Hero Cemetery of Kalibata: )
