Cebu is one of the food capitals of the Philippines and there s no better way to jump into the local Filipino food culture than with a huge Su-To-Kil meal! Today I m meeting up with my friend Carlo from Kalami Cebu, and we re going to order a huge meal, including a giant Cobia fish belly grill! Kalami Cebu - First of all a huge thank you to Carlo, from KalamiCebu He s a local from Cebu that is probably the most knowledgeable guy about the local food of Cebu. He s so much fun to hang out and eat with. Go check his content out for great tips on where to eat in Cebu. Parr t Ebelle Seafood Restaurant - Today for lunch we re heading straight to Parr t Ebelle Tinola, a restaurant that s known for its giant fish grill, and for its fish soup called tinola. Altogether the popular combination is called Su-To-Kil: sugba (grill, tola (soup, kilaw (marinated in vinegar. It s a legendary Filipino food combination that can be made from all fish in different cooking methods so you have a complete meal. Parr t Ebelle Tinola is one of the most popular and famous tinola and sutokil meals in Cebu. Everyday the restaurant is absolutely jam packed and after tasting all the food - now we know why. It s so tasty and the quality is so good. With Carlo s expertise, we ordered the giant Cobia fish belly, the local favorite fish - it was huge. The belly was so delicious, dipped in soy sauce and vinegar and combined with vinegared fish (kinilaw, grape seaweed, and 2 varieties of fish head soup.

ohhh Mark! I can tell from your face that you really love those dishes because I've been there, the food there is incredibly delicious, and it's no joke they serve you fresh Sea food. It's a little bit pricey but worth it.
The Nilarang is also great but the one in Pasil(still in Cebu City) is the best.
PS: I can't withstand eating one whole chili even if those are smaller than the size of my nails hahaha but to you, it seems just like a normal thing haha.

I hope Mark is only halfway through the series. happy to see him enjoy this round. His last Philippine series feels like a decade away. :) hoping that next to thailand and perhaps the US, his visits to the philippines are third most but i understand mark and family belong to the world. :)
Blessed hope-filled new year everyone!

You made me so hungry looking at those fishes. I love fish and the way they prepare similiar to what my mom often do, but my mom fish soup richer with other veggie like pinneapple, tomato and other green stuffs. Fish head and belly are the best part. Mark is so skinny and eating all that, I look at food and gain weigh lol.

As an UGALI eater from your home town of Upper Hill NAIROBI, I am disappointed in you Mark! Did you forget how to eat Ugali? You need to return for a refresher course, and also to make sacrifices to appease our ancestors who showed us the way of the hard solid ugali.

I love seeing Mark enjoy food. I could have eaten it all except the face. Mark mentioned pork. But I don't eat it, though. I didn't see them eating any. Maybe it was my mistake.
