Indian Street Food in Bengaluru: T-shirts: BENGALURU, INDIA - Today we’re going on an ultimate Indian food tour to eat 3 totally different types of biryani. Biryani is not just a food, it’s an entire culture, lifestyle, passion, and one of the greatest single plate meals on earth. Get ready for an Indian biryani overdose! Kripal's channel: FoodLoversTV - It was so much fun to hang out with Kripal who is passionate about food in Karnataka and extremely knowledgeable! Mani Biryani Hotel, Hoskote, India - To begin this ultimate biryani tour we had to start driving at 3 am to reach Hoskote, a town about an hour away from Bengaluru that’s legendary for their early morning biryani. What started off as a popular truck driver biryani, has turned into a biryani pilgrimage destination. And once you taste it, you’ll know why. Their Hoskote mutton dum biryani is one of the best plates of biryani I’ve ever had. They sell thousands of plates per day, and one pot is almost 1000 kilos of rice and meat! Taj Hotel, Bengaluru, India - Next up we’re trying a totally different style of biryani, which Kripal called Bengaluru Muslim style biryani. They still cook it the traditional way over fire, and meticulously do each step to follow the correct procedure. The result is spectacular, extremely fluffy rice, rich from the yogurt and ghee, and with a beautiful, yet less punchy spice masala mixture. Shivaji Military Hotel, Bengaluru, India - Perhaps one of the most famous restaurants in all of Bengaluru, Shivaji Military Hotel has taken eating to an extreme sport! And once you finally get a table and sit down to eat, you’ll know why there are so many dedicated loyal followers. They are most famous for their Donne biryani, served in a leaf. It’s astoundingly delicious and paired with their meatballs and peppery masala frys, it’s one of the best restaurants in all of Bengaluru. Thank you again to Kripal for taking us on this ultimate Indian street food tour in Bengaluru (Bangalore. Follow Kripal: FoodLoversTV Follow Joel: JoelsTastyRide

5: 00 Mark, that is NOT a biryani, that is a mutton pulao because the raw rice and meat are cooked in the same water and the water is absorbed. In a biryani, the rice is separately half cooked and the water is drained. Then the rice and meat are layered and steamed in an air tight container.
Most obviously way to tell the difference is biryani is two colored (white/orange) while pulaos are uniform single color.
18: 00, the second place is making biryani since the rice is boiled separately and then layered with meat.

Mark, excellent content. One suggestion: You should give the Chefs a couple of minutes of screen time. Ask them a couple of questions, and allow them some fame. The Chefs who created the largest biryani looked like he was hoping for some acknowledgement, and a moment to appear. Is not the Artist of greater importance, than those who appreciate the art
As for this content. WOW! What a huge pot of love created with love. I think I was salivating just watching the biryani being made. Beautiful!

Mark Wein should be a judge on Master Chef! We would never get a Winner, only a Weiner! Jim Carrey of food ala Ace Ventura in every single bite. Guy, tone it down, get some spectrum of taste, rate the food, every food from over spiced, overkilled is ohhhh laaalaaa for you! The truck stop biryani in an industrial shed is the labourer standard biryani, not cuisine as the mughal shadi one. Tell us the range, prices, portion, vs affordability, tastes, etc. Your taste bud must be fried!

Incredible to watch, I've made some biryanis and my tip would be, start with a good recipe and over time keep records of quantity of rice, water and salt used, these three things are the most fundamental and when you find the best balance it's a great result. Always remember ingredients like tomatoes or some fruits will add moisture. Wish you the best on your biryani journey.

You should be in Hyderabad to review food. Not in benguluru.
I always found food in beguluru very hyped up.
Its tastes r pretty average.
Come to Hyderabad to taste d magic
Biryani, Mandi, kababs, curries, everything top notch
Even cuisines of other states are authentic and tasty too here

I'm not sure why they named this dish Biryani, because it doesn't resemble biryani at all. In fact, this dish is actually more like a Dum or Yakhni Pulao based on the cooking method and the color of the rice. But in the end, it's a free world and everyone has the right to call it whatever they like.

Hi Mark, your hat wearing buddy sure knows his food, he compliments you perfectly. P. S, When eating with hands out of a plate, its good etiquette to eat from the front side of your plate, even more stricly so when you are sharing a plate with other people

Biriyani in Lahore, Pakistan is the best by far.
Kolkata style - which developed from Lucknow style - does a better version than Hyderabad.
Dhaka, Bangladesh style is good too.
Honourable mentions to Delhi style and Sindhi, Pakistan style.

Dear Mark, Hindus of Karunadu and Telang prefer Mutton and eat it exclusively, they find goat meat gamey whereas the Muslims of South India, Tamils and Kerala people prefer gamey favour Goat Meat which they incorrectly also call mutton

Biriyani's Iconic Figures are to be measured by the quality of Rice!
It's the lifeline of Biriyani.
A well cooked and tasty Biriyani Rice has always been a Fine Grained Basmati Rice

This is my favourite Biriyani spot in Bangalore. You can taste every mutton flavour in the rice which you will not get it in the Hyderabad dum Biriyani.

Biryani in BLR doesn't seem great, neither presentation wise nor taste wise. Biryani in Delhi is quite delicious, and the best I've eaten.
