its a bit of a shame your vist to melbourne was guided by food trendsters because ultimately it meant you missed out on so many good little suburban places that make affordable and incredible food. oh and i think the greeks in melbourne in the late 70s. 80s deserve some credit for the halal snack pack, it was pretty common for customers to request chips on their souvalakis etc which eventually bacame lamb and chips with chese, garlic sauce etc, and this was years before halal snack packs turned up

little disappointed in you here.
Should've gotten the Viet iced coffee from across the road from marrickville pork rolls. you went to Marrickville and didnt go to ANY of the amazing BREWERIES or coffee roasters
Why would you have chinese in townhall when ashfield is the new home of chinese food
If your eating El Jannahs you need to go and eat at Frangos in petersham
how can you say you ate indian food if you didn't go to Harris Park?

Middle eastern food in Australia during the 80 s was popularised mostly by Lebanese migrants and not the Turkish. Then he mentions disgraced politician Sam Dastyari who lost his political career for doing the direct bidding of the Chinese Communist party.
Who is the idiot researcher for his video.

If you get to South Australia, go to Yiros Club 2 in Munno Para for a beef and chicken yiros. So moist, tasty, fresh. it's my go to when i don't wanna cook z; D

Ah yes the HSP got 15 dollars to your name after a night out? Find the cheapest kebab shop grab the cheapest meat option with cheese, load that mf up with hot chilli sauce and another sauce of your liking and you ll be cured of a hangover in no time boys and girls.

What kind of cheese is on the HSP?
The dutch version on HSP called kapsalon has added salad and is grilled to melt the cheese on top. No bbq sauce either. Im definitely going to try some bbq on it next time. The shredded cheese on the fries is also a great idea!

reply

HSP was invented in the Netherlands Rotterdam it's called Kapsalon (barbershop) because the neighbour (who was a barber) of a Arab restaurant came in daily and ordered fries with cheese, fries, beef, chicken, salade and garlic sauce and sambal. This was in 2003

Xinjiang or (new territory ) is Uyghur land some of the dishes from the Chinese noodle restaurant are Uyghur not Chinese, the owners are Han Chinese who migrated there and learnt the food and are now selling it in Australia but passing it off as Chinese dishes

That reaction to the first bite of egg plant was so real my mouth started burning lol! Love you are including Micah in the videos. Great you followed up with the dumplings in chili oil! Did have a functioning taste bud after that? Mouth watering in Kentucky!

I have a question for you, Mark. Traveling is great, and it's enjoyable to learn other cultures and the food they eat, but there is nothing better than sleeping in your own bed. After you go somewhere, why don't you just stay put for a month or 2?

All these old english colonies like usa, canada, austrailia, new zealand are stolen land from its original Native people/owner of that land, and they are all the same just with another name stamped on them>>> usa austrailia canada new zealand

Damn, I wish I could get a pork roll like that in Perth. The tikka kebab is a revelation, such a great example of the multi cultural influence in Australia. I'll be checking that and the noodle shop out next time I'm over in Sydney.

Flight prices from NYC to Sydney kill me I already wanted to go, but I'd love to spend a couple days just exploring the popular food spots throughout town and getting to know Australian cuisine/culture. One day!

I've been to a lot of these places Mark Wiens has been. Unfortunately it's not always fresh prepared like they do for Mark. He really gets the best of the best because they understand him filming.

Sydney seems like it would be an awesome place to live. Unfortunately, it looks like you'd need to be a millionaire to afford a home. .and I still don't see how he stays so skinny. lol
