Dear God, what an absolute mess of a sandwich. I don't even know where to begin, More lettuce than bread Bacon in the blender with mayonnaise And the nutrition That sandwich is 2200 calories at an absolute minimum. What a terrible terrible message to send to people. Imagine eating that monstrosity in the way you did and being seen by someone! I would be utterly ashamed if I was seen consuming that sandwich in that way. It looks like one of those oversized cartoon sandwiches that Shaggy eats in Scooby Doo! I feel a terrible sense of pity for anyone who would be using the bathroom after you have finished in there. Awful business.

Mistake 1 - getting bad tomatoes. There's a thing called BLT Season and it's when the best heirloom tomatoes are available, about 2 months out of the year. That's right, you should only make BLTs when your locale is producing top quality tomatoes. Any inferior tomatoes like the chambered out ones in this video are an insult to the BLT.
Mistake 2 - Cooking the bacon in a pan instead of the oven on parchment paper. Try it and compare.
That sandwich was a 5/10 at best but what more should we expect from a British cook

Chef seems like a very nice guy, but I’d never eat that BLT. I’m sure it is delicious, but I don’t like to eat super overstuffed sandwiches. Maybe I can’t open my mouth wide enough, maybe I don’t like eating such a sloppy sandwich that I end up wearing food on my face and shirt, and maybe it’s too much of a good thing that spoils it for me. So I’ll take a few very good tips from him and elevate my own BLTs. I respect the guy and his sandwich; it’s just not my cup of tea, so to speak.

I like BLTs with both extra bacon and extra tomatoes and the bacon CRISPY, also I use a shredded lettuce compote with some regular old mayo mixed into it as well as some mayo on the toast, first with added garlic butter, I just have all ingredients in layers also salt and pepper the tomatoes

welp, he predicted it would the vid would stink. The only darker food vid I can think of is that salt fat heat vinegar series on netflix which was like watching tv wearing cataract surgery glasses. The cinematic look, or whatever this is, is awful. This isn't batman, its a recipe video.

I legitimately don't think this was thought through at all, I don't for one second believe he's done this before beause then he'd know that if you put mayonnaise into a blender, instesd of hand mixing things into it, it becomes a disgusting liquid! This was bizarrely arrogant tbh.

Loved every single second of this video. Hilarious commentary, the scattered movements, and new methods that I’d never would have thought of. Reminds me of being with my family haha. All ends with a delicious and crazy creation derived from a simple sandwich!

The best BLT ever:
Synthetic 99 cent white bread
Hellman's mayo
Tomatoes from the garden
Iceberg lettuce
Homemade bacon
The best BLTs came out of my great-grandmother's kitchen.

I totally disagree with the bacon not being crispy, but that's just me. A BLT should definitely highlight the tomatoes over anything else though. There's not much better than fresh tomatoes.

This looks insane and this whole process was a chaotic yet beautiful process, I wanna see this dude and Matty Matheson make some big grotesque sandwich

Looks like tasty bloody mess but when hes talking about all layers in one bite and then you sorta have to unhinge your jaw to make it possible is not ideal.

I went to his shop in Finsbury Park many years ago, he wandered around the restaurant chatting away to everybody. Really nice vibe and excellent sarnies.

I haven’t cooked in months, and this video was so bad it motivated me to get up and make a better blt than whatever I just watched
reply

Might be tasty, but not a fan of sandwiches or burgers that you can't bite into without having to dislocate your jaw first.

I'm gonna make a bold claim. as if he hasn't been making them non stop for the first 4 minutes already, love this guy
