It is possible to find great, cheap food in NYC and 20 Grams Cafe in Brooklyn can attest to it with their viral $2. 55 cheeseburger. In this episode of Word of Mouth, we speak to owner Young Kim and Executive Director Samantha Casale to understand how this burger became NYC’s most popular slider. We also visit their kitchen where they use fresh, seasonal, and local produce to create the mouth-watering sliders that are taking the city by storm. 20 Grams Cafe operates above the Jubilee grocery store over on West Street in Greenpoint. That fat to lean ratio is almost the same as shake shack, shake shack uses 70% lean 30% fat and a ton of salt at shake shack I went recently and everything is heavily salted the buns, cheese and patty. Its not hard to be a successful business just simply look at what is trending or popular amongst a target audience. I think this video showcases the power of social media marketing and providing what a large section of a target market wants the burgers look of good quality and a comfortable clean restaurant.

I don't know how #Munchies always finds these great start up and family businesses to showcase that you can make it. but I am happy they do. Is there anything better than learning about people doing their own small part to make the world a better place If you are in NYC please stop by and support them by hitting the grocery store (and maybe grabbing a burger to go. Thank you Munchies social media team for keeping your focus on highlighting great people doing amazing things.

This should be an eye opener about how bad major corp restaurants and restaurants in general are ripping us off. these people are using grass feed beef, local pickles, and onions, specially baked buns and they are selling these for $2. 55. I understand they are smaller. but 3 of them is less than $9. and would be significantly more food and way higher quality than the garbage at McDs/BK/Wendys that cost more. what a joke.

those dudes working next store found a gem. they said 2 years they been on that job! 2 years of amazing burgers. im so jealous. I will say it is word to mouth, if i knew of a spot like this around me i would be going and telling everyone as well. but i dont know of any in my area.

they sound like how all bosses should be, so many businesses are short sighted and don't understand the power of a loss leader, thats money that would be wasted on marketing, but they are marketing through word of mouth and value

Its long been hard to find a deal like that unless its a mcds or other special
As long as its delicious that works for me!
Im sure you can do worse spending nearly 10 times as much for a burger thats not great

and a normal burger with normal amount of meat is probably around 5 ish bucks, meaning that a normal burger have twice as much meat and their price for a normal burger would be about 5 bucks, kinda cheap still but yeah

Shit is really mid. Not exactly worth the trip. But I guess it’s worth a try. Gotham burger club is really close. Go there for a burger. This is sorta like White Castle. Heavy on the onion and heavy on the pickles.

That burger looks amazing and for $2. 55! Hell, makes me almost wish I still lived in Jersey. I'd hightail it over the bridge so fast. I remember how many miles we'd go for good food. Ah but gas was so much cheaper then.

Maybe the make up the loss from the cheap burger from the slightly more expensive items the sell in the grocery store or they are just using trimmings from their butcher shop to make straight profit. Lol.

Every small business needs to remember this, be good to your community and it will grow and be loyal. Glad to see that some people can remember what respect, love and value can do for a business.

Shoutout to the old president of Jubilee, he saw the right guy for the job early on and trained him into the position. This is how investing in your community can make everyone's lives better.

To be fair its a very nice grocery store, they carry a lot of good stuff at reasonable prices. They were also giving out grocery store discount coupons with the purchase at the cafe.

NOOOOOOOO its antisemetic to charge this low. you MUST charge more so taxes can be funded to israel! you must charge more to make the jewish finance owned chains look more palatable!

when those interviewee say A better B, can they really do it in blind test and able to differentiate successful rate more than 90% if not how they know is better or shitter
reply

Damn. that would honestly still be a STEAL if it was $5 (I'm sure it will be soon) Too bad that's like an hour drive for me. I need to find another excuse to visit Brooklyn.

That's a Oklahoma onion burger. Happy you're doing good with it. It became popular during the great depression. Much love from Lawton Fort Sill Oklahoma. THE GERBLAXICAN

Definition of a loss leader.
There's no way make a $. 05. They lose for sure. Glad it brings people in to try and buy at a local owned grocery with food.

Hopefully this levels, sorry, humbles other joints charging 6 times the price with zero customer service skills! Congrats guys this burger rocks - everybody wins.

Honestly this is really nice to see this concept still exists outside of Costco. Thank you! Young Kim and Samantha Casale for making this happen.
