MUNCHIES: Meatball Shop

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow are two meatballs from Manhattan who love meatball subs. After working in kitchens for a while, they eventually got their shit together and opened The Meatball Shop on the Lower East Side and, later, another location in Williamsburg. In this episode of Munchies we do what we always do with our rising-star chefs

I read about this place, this video does not tie in with the review. The local NYC reviewer said all meatballs are done in -central location- not the restaurant. They are brought to the store and basically cooked or reheated. --Secondly many Italian Americans (many experience eating meatballs because moms and grandmas make it) say that meatballs are average. The whole attraction seems to be the hype, good looking staff, the buzz because you have to wait in line. Food gets solidly average reviews.

But who's the one who's married, and who's the one who does all the hard work in the background? and no matter how hard you know the ingredients. who listens on the table? Who does everyone hug? Who's the one who gets made fun of? shame - but kinda love it, as dicey and cute VICE wants to be, people like people who are good looking, no matter what industry - shame.

Good luck to them. They seem to have a good business and yeah. Can't say I find this episode that exciting, but hey I think I'm just jealous of their youth and success and the fact they live in NY when I'm trapped in a god forsaken shit hole in the UK. Oh well. one can dream. Hmmm a meatball wouldn't be such a bad idea right now. OM nom nom etc.

Munchies videos really depend on the personality and dialogue of the people they're following this video was less interesting than the guide to vegas but it was more entertaining because of good host dialogue and real interactions between friends no awkwardness

Man, i use to watch vice every episode but now i just watch munchies. No more vice: -/--Also, love this episode of meat balls. --Side note, i chucked when Dan said, -Michaels love of balls is what started this whole thing. - lol

Don't get me wrong, it looks tasty, but I swear 90% of the dishes/restaurants that Munchies covers are basically just different versions of minced meat. Meatballs, lasagna, ragu, about a million types of hamburger.

I must say that despite this episode of munchies coming off very, very douchey, the meatball shop does make a killer meatball sub. Went there last summer while in NYC. Also they make some kick ass chocolate chip cookies.

Its really nice to see boys who are friends when they're really young grow up to get big money together! Also i lol'd at -we started this because of his love for balls- with such a straight face.

Bada Bing, Bada Boom, Ragu, Bafangool. there's nothing more grating than a couple of douchebags who think they're in The Sopranos, when in reality they belong on the Jersey Shore.

I -hate- meatballs. They're like hamburgers without the tasty bits. -Mind you like, hummous, pho and capsicum, I only wish I liked them because every other bugger loves then: (
