video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Our host Ben Ferguson and director Marc Isaacs travel to the Lincolnshire town of Boston to reveal a local story about communal fears about change and immigration. Set in a single location-the inside of a burger truck-this story unfolds as passersby answer Marc's questions while they slurp tea and eat bacon sandwiches. The result is an illuminating blend of anxiety and insecurity as attitudes towards outsiders begin to shine a light on why England is going through such politically turbulent times

MUNCHIES I'm so disappointed! I watch all of your documentaries and I love each one. -I was born in Boston and have lived here all my life, so when I saw that a MUNCHIES film was made here I was very excited. But all you have succeeded in making is another film about Boston that depicts us all as being racist idiots! -Why didn't you come and talk about the amazing produce we grow, and make a film that celebrates this area for a change like you do so well in all your films?

That younger Latvian girls interview was really poignant. The -them- become a part of -us-. These people need to get over the negative connotations they've attached to immigration. Immigration has been occurring for thousands of years and it has always driven us and the economy forward. The same things is happening now that has been happening in any village for thousands of years.

I think it'd absurd that you think because foreigners there are more crimes. Plus, we all need change, a country need change, obviously there will be some pros and cons but to criticize even without getting to know about these foreigners and their culture is saying something about your -open-minded- thinking. Shame on you

What an amazing video, you did such a great job on this one. It was really interesting hearing what everyone had to say, what they ordered, and how they all reacted when you simply asked them where they were from. It's fascinating to see how other countries deal with the same issue! -Thanks again Munchies!

Simple and wonderfully filmed piece. The Ukip guy in the brand new merc was a total wanker. Typical wannabee playing up to those around him and spouting the same old nonsense. Good job Vice. More like this please.

Loved this video. Wonderful concept. I liked the close ups because people's faces can tell you so much, and I loved how you just let people tell their own stories without interference or judgement.

Wow, this simple filming technique brings out some of the most transparent responses, and allows us to have a glimpse into people's lives who would have otherwise been forgotten. Great video.

16: 05 Except those signs never actually existed, the idea of their existence was made up by the Irish studies centre of the London metropolitan university using a faked photograph.

Wow, super interesting movie, I love the way of filming. All those people make me realise that England is not so different from France when it comes to countryside.
