In this episode of FUEL, we head to new heights following professional rock climber Alex Honnold, whose jaw-dropping, free-solo climbs (no ropes) have cemented him as one of the most revered and respected climbers in the world. Set in stunning Utah, Alex takes us along as he trains and preps for an upcoming expedition in Angola, Africa. We follow him to unique climbing destinations; Maple Canyon for cobble climbing and an intense alpine scramble up the south ridge of Mount Superior with fellow dirtbag climber James Lucas. Before setting off for Angola, being a self-professed lazy cook, Alex shops for vegan snacks and drops by Gnarly Nutrition in search of light, tasty, and travel-friendly food to keep him powered up and at a high fitness level. It-s clear, no matter what Alex scarfs up, that by following his own brand of a healthy middle ground, the sky-s the limit

Indian vegetarian are fat, they have a fatty vegetarian food. The lean people are either poor/hardworking/from their gen, not lean because of lack of protein or fat. This dude is drying out eating water and trash for sure. Vegetarians also eat normal 2-3 times a day, not 20 times a day like this dude. Filling his belly with water, he's starving the whole time.

I respect the act of freestyle, but what I will never understand is why not do it with a rope, so if you do fall, instead of dying, you can live and keep climbing forever? Props to Alex who must leave his huge balls at base camp, or he'd be too heavy.

James almost died, had a second chance at life, and CONTINUED DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING. That-s when you know you-ve found your perfect bliss and love your life. if you knew you would die next week, you wouldn-t change a thing.

Average Guys: - First I will be making 6 figures per year, then I'll buy a big nice house, then I'll buy a Lamborghini to show off, have a hot girlfriend, live a Cushy lifestyle. then I'll be happy. --Alex Honnold: - -Hold my ropes. -

So then the greatest climber in the world says, he says- over time I just got naturally better, but I've never been gifted, oh well. - He's pretty slick, because being gifted would imply that he didn't earn every finger hold.

I find it kind of funny that he has such a dead-pan kind of voice and low-key personality, but the man literally climbs hundreds of feet up vertical rockfaces in a suicidal scramble to the top JUST FOR FUNZIES.

Ha, my Bassett Hound jumped into your van at Strawberry, Ca when she smelled the bacon cooking in your van. You were very friendly about it. Must have been just before you were becoming a vegetarian.

This video is refreshingly immature. Alex calls Mormons retarded. This is especially funny to me because my bro is Mormon. Then they giggle about him just wanting the nut. Just some dudes.

This is what one does with one's life when they don't have everyone at home upstairs. When your gene pool is a Jacuzzi and your IQ is in double digits, you gotta do what you gotta do.

-I'd like to think that when I die the world will not be a worse place because of me. ---Someone else already noted this: -But I just think all the religious stuff is retarded. -
