This is a special day guys! This is the day Matty shows you How-to make Fried Chicken. It's not southern fried chicken, it's squad fried chicken. Squad fried chicken can be from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a good group of buddies to share it with. First, cut your birds into 10 even sized bucket-ready pieces. Then submerge those pieces in pickle brine for 24 hours. This is an important step and cutting corners will not be tolerated! After 24 hours, transfer your pieces into buttermilk for another 4 hours. Don't complain about waiting, it's not that hard and no one likes a complainer. Watch The Equalizer twice or something. Denzel takes out the entire Russian Mafia in that movie. I think you can wait 4 more hours on your couch. After those 4 hours, evenly cover each piece of chicken in your flour mixture and preheat your oil to 300-. Once your oil reaches temperature, drop your chicken pieces in slowly. DO NOT FUCKING BURN YOURSELF! Cook your pieces for 15 - 20 minutes or until they reach 165- inside. Have you ever burnt your mouth on fried chicken? It fucking sucks, don't do that to your squad. Let the chicken cool down before serving. After a few minutes, pull out some white bread, pickles and lemons and serve it to your squad. Fried Chicken Suicide is real! Be careful with hot oil guys

i remade this, didnt like it. fennel is not the way to go for me personally, but the pickle juice brine was amazing, im stealing that. i usually just use buttermilk overnight. what i usually use is s&p, coriander, smoked paprika, ground clove, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, cayenne, white pepper, basil and oregano for my dry batter, and seasoned salt on my chicken, with buttermilk, egg yolk, and louisiana hot sauce for my wet batter. im from georgia so i love his enthusiam for fried chicken. i make it every saturday for my friends, family and kids.

I know this video is quite old now but I have a serious inquiry as a home cook that is constantly trying to learn and evolve in the kitchen. Why the smoked paprika -and- regular paprika? I'm not bashing it or anything, I'm genuinely curious if it was a mistake, overkill or if the two really differ enough from one another to qualify them both being added.

So fun fact, the pickle brine method is also what Chick-fil-a uses for their chicken (now you know what they do with all the leftover juice from their pickles) -Also, I appreciate the totally non-serious moments to the whole blurb about hot oil back to non-serious. I appreciate that shit.

The same amount Babish makes me feel happy und cozy About coocking, Matty makes me laugh and be in kind of a rascal mood. No joke, yelling random things became part of some of my home cooking. Especially with friends around. It's a BLAST and the food is nice, too!

It's kind of weird watching him, because Matty sounds eerily similar to my Uncle Sammy. Said uncle also makes barbecued food on a near daily basis, so I'm having the weirdest case of deja mustard right now.

Great recipe. I only had one problem with it. Everytime I made a batch my family would swoop in and eat them all before I finished the next batch. I had hard time filling the plate: ) -----

Dude. your show is so sick! I wish all chefs were as entertaining as you brother. It-s about time someone made us Canadians look good. Hope you come back to Newfoundland

This makes so much sense! Do you know how many times I-ve had fried chicken and I-m like -does this chicken kinda taste like pickles? - I thought I was crazy!

Can I just douse the breaded chicken with oil and bake it at 400f? I know it wouldn't be as good, but I'm only making it for me and I don't have a frying pot.
