Is so cool to hear this from a Hawaiian because I know Puerto Ricans have migrated there but you know what-s weird? There-s a weird breed of Ricans in the island that actually look Hawaiian. I-m like -I thought it was us there and not y-all here-. I-m Puerto Rican and I dated a dude who looked SOOO Hawaiian, I-ve never forgotten him cause I think Hawaiians are sooo beautiful and he was like perfect, had the Rican personality (trouble with spices) and the beautiful Hawaiian complexion. I guess if he didn-t have any connection to Hawaii then maybe he got the look from the Taino tribe from the island. Every Rican has it but he showed a lot of asian and native traits. He was gorgeous.

I thought western people doesnt know Ramen means hand pulled noodle, so Ramen noodle actually means hand pulled noodle noodle. this friendly Hawaii chief has figured it all out. Enjoy watching different cultures happily combined together and create more beautiful things, other than seeing western and eastern people's rage on the internet and attacking each other due to fake news and provocative tweets.

So my family spent over a decade in Hawaii but moved to the mainland when i was little. Growing up we called ramen Saimen and we made it with veggies and meat etc. And I was always so confused why people ate theirs plan and why they called it ramen and all my friends that ibwas crazy calling it Saimen

I cannot find saimin noodles (by Sun Noodles) to buy in Houston. They don't have it at Hmart, nor at 99 Ranch nor Hong Kong Food Market, nor at Daido. I can buy pork/pigs blood to make boudin noir but not a f------ Sun Noodles saimin. -

haha same about differentiating ramen from saimin. i also ate saimin aka ramen packets as i was growing up cause that's what my parents called it so to this day, when i make these ramen packets for breakfast i still call it saimin.

I wish saimin would become popular here in San Jose (Silicon Valley. I-m tired of Pho. My mother used to make it at home with long, thin straight egg-noodles, but I can-t find such a thing here.
