The only way this gets easier is if someone makes it for you. INGREDIENTS: 1 tablespoon olive oil cup diced yellow onion 3 cloves garlic, minced 5 vine-ripe tomatoes, roughly chopped cup red wine (any wine you enjoy drinking will do) 2 tablespoons tomato paste 10 fresh basil leaves, chiffonade (stacked, roll like a cigar and then thinly sliced lengthwise) Kosher salt and pepper

I make something similar all the time, but I use Roma tomatoes, which have less water and seeds, and are more meaty. Canned San Marzano tomatoes are the best, and you don't have to worry about ripeness, but they are expensive, so best for maybe a 'date night' version. I then use an immersion blender to get it broken down faster and more of a consistent texture instead of chunks of tomato in a watery sauce. I also add some Oregano. Also, depending on how sweet the tomatoes are, maybe a pinch or two of sugar. And I simmer it for at least 20 minutes for all the flavors to meld. Grated carrots are a nice addition too for a bit more texture and sweetness, but they need to simmer for an hour or so to break down. Also, a light sprinkle of red pepper flakes are common to give it some heat beyond simple black pepper.

Lately the videos aren't that funny. Loved the old ones with the banter these new ones seem just regular cooking shows filled with edits
