We're making fried chicken tenders in the air fryer AND deep fryer - let the battle 4 best recipe begin! Tran: Great chicken tender recipe. I see a lot of debate below regarding using oil I the air fryer. The deal is that hested oil has a low heat capacity, transfers heat to food much faster than air, is a viscous moist heat, and it can penetrate food to a degree. Heated air wicks moisture away and while it does penetrate food unlike oil it also leaves food. This is why untreated food comes out dry from an air fryer. A light coating of oil on air fried food is basically a medium between the two. You're transferring heat between air and the oil and then the food. However, there is not enough oil to overcome the heat transfer from air entirely. So the air still does most of the cooking. But the food will have better browning with if air fried dry.

Loved the video, subbed. Definitely use some oil with the air 'fryer'. For me the air fryer means not having to deal with liters of oil and it is much safer than a deep fryer with kids around. Simple matter of convenience. Plus easier to clean and blah blah. It's not a fryer for sure, but it's not an oven either. Technically, all cooking machines basically heat the food in different ways that's all. To each their own. P. S. Deep fried isn't less healthy. Oil isn't unhealthy. Some carbs aren't unhealthy. Your diet and physical activity is a system, a lot of choices stack up over a period of time to give us good health. Choose wisely, and choose for the long term.

Sure deep fryer taste better, but as I get older, I am starting to realize that I eat to fuel my body and stay healthy. I used to eat because I love food and enjoy my food no matter what food it is, not anymore. Now I eat because I want to live healthy and disease free. Like what Hippocrates said: Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food. All disease begins in the gut. I am living that life now, so no thank you deep fryer, hello air fryer.

You compared a thinner piece of chicken (air fryer) vs a thicker piece of chicken (deep fryer. The cooking time wouldn't be the same and that caused the air fryer to dry it out a tad. You were right, remove it 1 to 1. 5 minutes earlier. You have to also trial and error your air fryer to learn how to use it. In the end, the air fryer will do its job, but it will never beat out a deep fryer. It will for health reasons as well as convenience.

whoever named the Air Fryer an air fryer needs to be properly shamed, so many people buy it expecting it to fry, call it what it is. A Whirly Ovenas for the battle, my argument is not the taste, or the speed, but the taste / ease of use / COST combo you do not have to buy oil for the Whirly Oven, that shit adds up, oil is not cheap. get you some shake and bake and go nuts.

You should have let the chicken tenders soak for at least 7 Minutes in ice water. I soak my chicken for at least that time to 30 minutes, that's the secret behind KFC juicy chicken and then brushed on the oil on the tenders before you fry them, it would have been less dry, more crunchy and more flavorful and HELL OF A LOT LESS CALORIES!

The deep fried is double the size. Of course it is moister. Plus, it's cooked in a liquid. Try spraying a bit of oil on the airfried ones before cooking them. Oh, a dn leave it in until finished, you had the drawer open for the last 2 minutes! 11 mins are plenty, but eat them while they're still hot cos they dry out when sitting around.

If your allowed to raise temperature and wiggle the recipe a bit for AirFryer, and split the cooking in two and flip em, I would spray some canola oil over it and raise the temp to 375 and maybe 1-2min more on the second pass. You get a very crispy and we'll colored texture. And surprisingly very juicy and tender.

Make America Great Again was an utter failure, I hope you have more success getting Americans to Cook. I have to add, that given this is American, we can assume the deep fryer manufacturers offered more money? Can you make a video comparing bleach with disinfectant injections as a defense against Covid-19? Thanks.
