Today I'm showing you how to make the best White Castle cheeseburger sliders w/ this easy recipe! Antedon: Hi, love this! But have to say that about forty years ago I started making my own version when I was in a hurry to feed our kids' party. What I did was to just go ahead and hand-flatten the pre-seasoned ground chuck onto the cooking pan, the minced onions on the bottom of the pan first. I did two pans since we had a lot of kids. No measuring, no holes. Then when the meat juices were running clear and the meat was thoroughly cooked, on went the cheese, diced tomato, pickles. I shut off the oven until the cheese was completely melted. Then I put on the top buns, cut them into individual portions using the bun top as the guide, and left in the oven for another bit until they were warm. This takes a very short time. Then slid them individually from the pan onto each warmed bottom bun. The easiest way! No measuring, no fussing. It is one of those things you do to save time, not to make more work. Thanks again!

Dehydrated onions give 80% of the White Castle taste. That and the buns. Also, they always top the burger with a small dill pickle. The holes are there so the burger cooks faster and allows the buns to be steamed. I used to work there as a 16 year old. You owe it to yourself to go to an authentic White Castle and try the real thing. I must admit, I live in California and wanted to do a home version. I too used the Hawaiian bread and it's pretty darn close. the trick really is the dehydrated onions. Plus the patties are nowhere near as thick as the ones you made. White Castles are much thinner pattys.

What I really enjoy about Sam's videos, is the fact that he doesn't speed up his video too much when going through the cooking process. I hate it watching cooking videos that speed through a minute with a person struggling to follow. Sam's videos actually have atmosphere while he shows step by step how he does things. I actually feel part of the video. Love his awkward humour too: . Great videos!

Sam, So close but yet so far! I can tell you have never had one! I'm from St. Louis are. We've had White Castles my whole life. My first one was. 05 each. My Mom was pissed off when she saw how small they were! They are ALL BEEF. That does not mean ALL MEAT. There is about 10-15% beef liver ground into the meat. Get it? Liver and onions. Just though you should know. Respectfully, Kevin

Although these look amazing, They are not even close to White Castle. The only thing you got right is that you use beef and put the five wholes. But that it is. Just one note the onions need to be dehydrated first then re hydrated. That is where the liquid comes from. Again they look wonderful, but they are nothing close to White Castle.

I make them all the time from frozen ones - I add lots of onions to the frying pan - put hamburgers on top of onions, then put the bun on top - COVER until done - tastes just like the restaurant ones - also let me comment on the presentation - not bad but too many cooks want to be Julian Child and drop things, then ha ha - it gets old

Now I know what those King's Hawaiian rolls are for, and I didn't have a clue until Sam showed me. They're important to me now, because Sam showed me their importance. He's a genius like that. Yes, I love White Castle sliders, but Sam showed me how to make real ones, not the expensive frozen ones. Sam enlightens the world.

Now while that looks like they were excellent, I just wish you would have tried White Castle burgers at in store. Frozen are nothing compared to the actual thing. White Castle burgers are phenomenal and I think you would have a greater appreciation for how they are originally made if you had ever eaten them fresh

I like your attitude, I like the food, and the April 20 reference cracked me up. I live in the Philippines now, so the reference to day 110 of the year (111 in leap years) is history for me, but your videos are cool, and I can introduce my Filipino family and friends to the stuff in your videos. Thanks.
