The secret thanksgiving side dish my family has hidden from me for 40 years. I really wish Sam would stop using that silicon spatula for cooking. Silicon is basically plastic polymer and with those frying pans being extremely hot, you're going to get some microscopic plastic polymer particulates contaminating your food. Plastic contamination can have an effect that can last multi-generational, from birth defects, allergic reactions, to hormone disruptors (yes, turning people homo or trans.

This looks amazing! Someone mentioned that it looks like a hearty breakfast. what a great idea! I'm not replacing my family's beloved green bean casserole, but I damn sure will be making this very soon!
Side note; Max! That tiny camera you use when shooting on Sam's right looks REALLY awesome! Well, I mean. the shots look really awesome. But the camera is cute too. Anyway, would love to see more shots with that one, very visually pleasing!

Everything just the same, but add a whole head of roasted garlic instead of pureed from the tube, smoked Gouda cheese added instead of Monterey Jack. Add the parmesan too & a dollop of sour cream on top w/ fried onions when done, really rich & decadent. yum! I'm tweeking it a little bit for the holidays. Ya'll Have A Happy Thanksgiving!

I like the idea of this recipe being for breakfast because of the eggs and bacon and the way it looks. I will try it soon. But I'm going with the green bean casserole because I searched and searched for what I hope will be a good improvement over the non-fresh canned stuff. I AM making Sam's creamed corn because that looks so yummy

Whereas I disagree with the Green Bean Casserole slander, I cannot agree more with your stance on traditions. I've found most traditions had a reason for existing in one point in time, but that reason is usually no longer valid.
. Anyway, I'm making both green bean casserole and this.

Always really like your recipes, and have watch so many. I may have just missed this in previous videos, but did anyone else notice that one of the model hands in the background was doing the shocker? I thought that was pretty funny. Don't know if it was intentional, but it cracked me up.

Rutabaga is the one thing we only have at Thanksgiving and Xmas. It is one of my favorite holidays food! One year Mom didn't make it at Thanksgiving, my sister and I said we wouldn't be coming to Xmas if there was no Rutabaga! We've had it at both ever since! Love You Mom!

I heard it was actually John s recipe but because it wasn t socially acceptable for men to cook, he had to put it under the female pseudonym. It was his actual name because he wanted the boys down at the crocheting club to know it was actually his recipe.

Sam, I'm waiting for the day you are proud of your jewish identity and culture and you start to embrace who you are and not think that by running the other way you will be saved. Looking forward to seeing you on a kosher food diet and show.

I m gonna cook that! I have everything on hand but the mushrooms. That could also be a KETO super dish for anyone to enjoy. But I don t really care what it looks like as much as what it tastes like so a pie plate will be My weapon of choice.

If I may (and I know you will think no you may not ) - I would love to see an final tasting like Guga does it at the end. Gotta get that first reaction to tasting it with all of you at the same time, and all of your thoughts on it.

Is this not basically just a frittata?
Our traditional Thanksgiving breakfast/appetizer - crescent rolls stuffed with a mix of cream cheese and spicy/hot breakfast sausage. Our kids love them, we love them, guests love them.

The comment Chance made that looks like a frittata pretty accurate, considering, it pretty much is a frittata. Just a lot more cheese than normal. Honestly, I'd eat it, sans the mushrooms and onions.

Boy, that looks incredible. It might be worth doing even though I m lactose intolerant. My daughter-in-law is a vegan so I am making vegan green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. Oh well what can you do?
