Sam I have been trying to get you to make some crappie egg rolls along with some wontons or like the crab ragons but with crappie! I am always out trying to catch fish and I’m always looking for new ways to cook them! I recently made some crappie egg rolls and some crappie ragons and I do have to say that they are my new favorite way to cook crappies! I’d like to see what all you would end up using to make them so I can see if I might need to change anything! I have told a few buddies about what I made and they tried it also and ended up calling me to tell me that it was definitely phenomenal and they would definitely be doing it again for sure! Sam I’d definitely love to see you make them also please! Awesome video and I absolutely love watching all your videos for sure! Oh and maybe if those are to hard for you to do in a video maybe try some pork chops where they are nice and tender and juicy and have an amazing flavor! It seems that every time I made pork chops they are always so dry and tough and that is why I have not had pork chops in over 5 years and I really miss having some really good and tender pork chops! Thanks again buddy and remember keep up all the hard work!

Pro-tip: You generally don't actually need to wash your rice these days. There are a few recipes that will call for doing or not doing so because they are delicate and are affected by extra loose starch. Risotto for example relies on that extra loose starch as a thickening agent. However, generally speaking, rice is all starch anyway, and washing that extra bit of starch dust off isn't going to make much difference for most applications.
The real reason rice has traditionally needed to be washed was because when buying it in bulk in big cloth sacks and such there is often less quality control and pest-proofing. In these cases you need to wash the rice to get rid of any leftover hulls or sneaky bugs. However, if you are buying rice from a modern super-market and it comes in sealed packaging then it is completely unnecessary to wash it. The factory packing process cleans it up very thoroughly and the sealed package keeps any bugs out. If bugs and dirt are getting in your rice after you put it in the pantry, then you have bigger problems to worry about in your kitchen.

I can backup how easy these type of meals are. I have a smaller Oster rice cooker and do these often. Since I am often in a hotel, for work, with no kitchen or oven 1 pot meals are vital. My rice cooker has a veg steamer tray as well. Usually I sauce afterwards, depending on what I am making, but I think I might just sauce it more often. Rice, chicken and broccoli all at one time. how can it get easier!

I do the same but Sam has better spices but my preparation is better. I brown bone in chicken thighs with the skin and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Once they are brown but not cooked through I add a cup of rice and a can of low sodium chicken broth. Cover for 20 mins. The rice comes out exactly like Sam’s but browning the skin makes it! FYI kids seem to love chicken rice

As a young married couple, we made chicken with rice in our $10 rice cooker. One thing to point out here, the thighs are doing some real heavy lifting in this process. The fat that renders out is leveling up the rice, bigtime. We started with using frozen tenders and upgraded to the thighs. We also never made a sauce/marinade, so this is motivating me to revisit our youth!

Would I like to win one of those knives Hell no! It’s not like I’m in denial or anything.
Honestly, this dish looks so good. When I was a kid, my uncle once served me rice with salsa in it, and my mind was blown. This is like the chef version of that, and it’s still so easy. Thank you (from the heart of a very simple-minded person.

I like it but what if there was a smidge less water or stock since the sauce in going in because the rice still looked a bit wet and gummy instead of fluffy. Unless that's what you're going for. I just happen to have some thighs in the freezer I'm going to skin and de-bone. This could be an option. I'm saving this one.

Wow, that's a great idea! I always cook rice in a regular pot on the stove. I'd love to try this recipe in that same pot. Just. you know. a little longer for the cooking.
I might add in some diced bell peppers and mushrooms at the end. Thanks!

Hey Sam, I used frozen Texas Toast Garlic Bread (5 mins in the oven) and put a quick Sloppy Joe mix on top for a great quick meal. As I was eating it, I was thinking about all the other toppings I could use. How about a show like that

55 minutes is your regular time for rice! WT actual F Rice is a 20 minutes of cooking, 5 minutes of rest, fluff with a fork and away we go sort of deal. I was considering getting a rice cooker at some point, but hell no.

I don't like the warm water defrost method so I use Chef Mike (as Gordon Ramsay would say) to defrost 500g (or 1lb) chicken thighs for 8 mins on 20% power. A few minutes longer if they are still rock hard after 8 mins

Years ago Vons sold a jar of sweet and sour sauce. As i recall you would put instant rice in a baking dish, add chicken, dump the sauce on top and bake in the oven. It was delicious but I haven't found it since.

Well yeah, your kids, Son's of Sam, don't want a regular job and think the internet is easy-money, just like OnlyFans. I've seen them a few times: awful. Awful. Did you get that

What do you think about a series of videos on prep-ahead meals Stuff that you can make and freeze and bring to ready in 20 minutes of hands off time or less.

I think it might be nice to sprinkle a little fresh thai red chilis on at the end as well in case you want a bit of a kick. Maybe mix it in the sauce instead.
