Yep 65 years old here in I don't have the ability to go anywhere and visit or eat at any of your restaurants or anything like that so due to my disability but I still enjoy your videos and I enjoy the say you're giving a knife away every video but you know for the like first three or four months you didn't do that. You said you were going to but there's many a video where you didn't. It's no worries to me that's just how life works. But I point out how life works. Anyways, you know one thing that I would like for you to make please before I die because I am dying, is A monte Cristo sandwich! I mean if you go to Disneyland and then there's the pirates of the Caribbean ride you ride past this restaurant and all these people are looking at you before you have fun on the ride but the people have this option to eat this glorious sandwich. The Monte Cristo sandwich. That sandwich should never be abandoned and it should never be ignored because it is one of the best sandwiches you could ever have because it's got French toast and then it's got ham turkey and cheese that are all deep-fried and then it's got powdered sugar and it served with maple syrup and seedless raspberry jam. There's not a better sandwich in the world!

What is that semi audible booooop sound in the background before the Bombas ad Maybe I’m just old but that makes me want to corkscrew my eardrums out. Seeing that French toast, however, makes me feel like a teen aged me that can out eat everyone at the party. Keep up the great work. I don’t know how many of your recipes I’ve tried but it’s probably too many. I have not been disappointed once!

I was a teenager when I found out French toast is supposed to be sweet. When I was growing up, my mother would make what she called, French toast, but it was really just bread dipped in beaten eggs, fried in butter, and then salted and peppered like scrambled eggs. I still do this. The first time I saw someone pour syrup on ACTUAL French toast, I was horrified. It seems crazy now.

Now do a sweet version of grilled cheese. Slices of pound cake for the bread, apple butter and american cheese inside (trust me. Melt butter in a pan to toast the sandwich, bing bang boom you got dessert grilled cheese. I came up with this recipe while in an herbal state but I may not be the first one to invent it.
PS - I have seen the Wizard of Oz many times!

Yep, seen the Wizard of Oz more than a few times. Used to be shown all the time around Thanksgiving, just like New Years Eve was usually Three Stooges Marathon. Not sure why but both seem to have stopped being a thing over the last several years. No idea why. Also, the french toast looks delicious

I showed the wizard of oz to my son when he was about six. He was captivated and at the end he just started crying, I’m talking straight wailing and he said momma, It. Was. So. Good! one of my favorite memories. Also: Green onions added to the egg mix. Oh Sam, you gotta do that!

Yanks just can't help adding a load of sugar to savoury stuff! STOP IT! Bread, eggs, milk, salt - perfect! Let it soak for half an hour too, not 5 mins. In England growing up it was always savoury, I never had sweet until I was an adult, and it's called Eggy Bread, not French Toast

My wife watches The Wizard of Oz, every year, she says it is tradition, and the wicked witch, is actually made of sugar( according to the book, so when the water gets thrown on her, she’s melting! And I agree when southern Calif. gets 90 plus! Forget-a-bout it!

I have developed a habit of slicing the bread for my French toast the night before I make it so that it can become stale. With other types of bread, it allows the finished product to stand up a little better. Would that be beneficial with this bread

Never watched wizard of oz but here we make french toast with little hardened bread or little hardened cinnamon roll kind of pastry without cinnamon. Don't know what's the proper name but i'm not sure you have the same stuff in the states.

I grew up eating French Toast made totally savory with Worchester sauce! Not sweet at all! The first time I tasted sweet French toast was when I was a teenager (the 80's. I don't know anyone else who have had this. It's really good.

I did not know you are here in San Diego. I'm up in Alpine, and we just finished a week over 100F. I love it due to my artritis: ) Going to Ocotillo tomorrow cuz of the heat! And BTW, I have seen the Wizard of OZ. Cheers!

What are my chances of winning a knife
Not good.
You mean not good like, 1 out of a hundred
I'd say more like 1 out of 3. 75 million.
So you're tellin' me there's a chance. YEAH!

That looks delicious. Try cooking it in a cast iron skillet, it’s amazing. I’m surprised there are people in this world who haven’t seen Wizard of Oz. Maybe it’s because I’m old.

When the mom lion roars for the 3rd time at the beginning of The Wizard of Oz, press play on Pink Floyd's The Wall album. They sync up perfectly. One of life's little happy little gems.

Wizard of Oz is important for movie history but if you guys like it I would recommend the musical Wicked.
Super nice addition to the story.
Thanks for the great videos Sam and. Co.

Watching the wizard of oz one time I remember Bisquick being the only sponsor. I must have watched the same commercial 50 times during that movie. I never ate Bisquick again.

I've seen the Wizard of Oz probably close to 500 times I ran out 2 VHS tapes when I was a kid. I also can't buy the socks cuz they don't go up to size 17 my feet are huge

I had my doubts when you started making that bread as to how it was going to turn out. Just finished the video and I'm about to fry up some bacon and shred some cheese!
reply

You’re way behind on this whole savory French toast thing, didn’t you ever have a Monte Cristo sandwich You’re just making French toast out of beer bread.
