I like the look of euonymous however it attracts a ton of pollinating insects including a type of large fly that look like house flies but are not. People I purchased my house from planted some by back patio and I'm considering taking it, or moving it if possible because I hate the extra insect activity.

So I have been afraid to plant some shrubs in front of the house because Ive seen some videos that involve a lot, such as landscaping cloth, top soil, compost, mulch etc. can I do the same like this video for shrubs too? I have no experience in gardening

I've coveted those dogwoods for years! So interesting! I didn't use to particularly care for euonymous; but, it's been growing on me the last 3 or 4 years. This one is really special. Your in-laws should be very happy with this lovely spot!

Rookie question here. Never done this before, and now I have to do a really big section of my house. I noticed you did not lay down black fabric before the mulch. Is the black fabric really necessary?

How do you keep the mulch looking nice? I purchased a brand that guaranteed 12 months but after 2 months its looking pretty dull. I dont want to keep replacing but its sort of frustrating also.

Two questions; Im wondering if the grass will grow back in since a border wasnt used? Also. Was there a sprinkler head in the corner for the grass? If so, did you have to move it? Thanks!

beautiful landscaping I would like to know what kind of mulch you used I've been using red mulch but I think I should be using organic mulch such as pine or Cypress mulch.
