Planting 10 Containers at Our Citys Splash Pad! Garden Answer Anton: I was able to get my hands on a couple of those Medusa Sweet Potato Vines (you're right that they're new for 2021, but my local garden center just loves me LOL, and I grew them at the base of a Limelight Standard Hydrangea, and it was beautiful! Granted, if deer are problematic for you (which I know they aren't for you Laura, but, in my part of NJ they'll try anything, they might eventually find it, as well as all my other sweet potato vines. Just wanted to share, I did enjoy that Medusa while it lasted, it does keep a mounding habit unlike the other more-trailing types - it was really nice to have it mounding at the base of that hydrangea tree.

I didnt know about the budworms. Maybe thats why my PWs didnt last very long in previous seasons. I thought it was me & stopped buying flowers. Most info videos show planting maybe soil etc but rarely do I see the follow thru of what the bugs you might encounter, what to treat with & how often. I may have missed those vids if theres other ones that discuss this. Its about being successful not just spending money then being discouraged because the plants died or spent more money for other products hoping itll fix the problem. Ty Laura for the follow thru. Maybe Ill try again with PWs or plants other than bushes.

Oh yes, Aaron's a total convert. lol. The excitement on the begonias cracked me up because my husband, who knows very little about plants in spite of living with me for 47 years, has ONE, just ONE flower he will tell you is his favorite. Begonias. I remember him sharing that little piece of info about 25 years ago and my mom and I just looked at him sort of stunned. But to this day he will still say he likes Begonias and that's about the end of his plant knowledge. LOL

I am amazed how Aaron knows plant names. And how excited he is when you were at your parents garden store.
Where can I find the butterfly trellis that was in the video when Aaron got excited with the flowering plant. Does your mom have a website where I can shop what she has in her store?
Thank you. I love your family esp how you are raising Benjamin. He is so sweet and caring. Keep being yourselves.

I was watching this video around 12: 30 at night while in bed. When you were talking about planting up the pots, I heard what sounded like a baby crying. I was thinking what are they thinking letting Samantha cry like that? Why havent they edited it out? I paused the video and the crying continued. It was cats fighting outside my window. So I can safely say you guys werent letting Samantha cry. Good job.

Portulaca is one of my favorite plants. I have a lava rock wall in my zone 12. They grow like succulents (can stick a stem somewhere and they flourish. Its funny that youd see it as more of a weed. Thats what I love about gardening! Its so fun listening to someone whose climate is almost the exact opposite as mine. Even though I cant relate to your area at all, your videos inspire me

Soooo awesome to see Aaron getting plants! I wish my Hubby would think of them as something besides just weeds. it would be so fun to garden with him but he has absolutely no interest what so ever: (. Now your Mom needs to totally restock the front plants! Portulacas do wonderful in containers Aaron! Laura. I have to control myself. as Aaron is totally running amuck!

I love this so much! I've always been a big fan of Aaron and it was so awesome to see him picking out what he liked and being so excited about it. We love you, Laura, but it's so fun to seeing Aaron getting in front of the camera! I'm looking forward to seeing both of you in front of the camera and creating great content.

Loved the teamwork! I actually just got an estimate from EarthPlanter for some hanging containers and a big stationary one for residential use and delivery. They're still working out the kinks on delivery of the big pots like what you used, but they are able to ship residential now. (I haven't pulled the trigger yet)

I would like to respectfully request two updates on this area, please. Perhaps mid season in July then again just before the park closes for the season and the pots get cleaned out? I just think it would be a fun comparison for those of us who want to be inspired by your choices and try them out at our own homes.
