Update on Front Yard Destruction, Transplanting a Few Things & Driveway Weed Control! Mystic: I love keeping up on your design/changes. I am obsessed with you - but I always wonder, Does Aaron have a job. Is he Mr. Dad only? Does he bring in any money or is this all you? Do you know how amazing you are Laura - and you are giving the rest of us pressure to step up now -? Gosh, some of my men friends say - THIS Girl, was pregnant, gave birth a few weeks ago, and NOW look at her go. She does not skip a beat. But seriously - I don't like how they are expecting us gals now to Step it up. and move as quick as you - so is Aaron more than a Couch Potato? Or what exactly does he do to keep your home running? He always sounds like he has endless funds to do all these wonderful things, yet you are the Work Horse who gets things done. Where is he in all this? Come on, set these guys straight Laura.

I do most of my transplant planting on overcast or rainy days because over the years I realized plants survive transplant shock much better if they're not in the sun. It may be helpful to put a tarp over that Redbud Tree if the sun comes out really strong. I found it's hard to bring a plant back from heavy wilting and it's way better to try to prevent it.
On the sunny days, I'd relax on the porch and read a book.

We live in city and don't have a lot of flowers and such really until our teeny little potted garden gets going so we always leave the dandelions for the bees. We get excited when we see the first bumbles of the year out and about. Willamette Valley is all confused this year though thanks to the strange heat wave then back to the cold. our plants seem to be rebelling lol

When I transplant any sizeable shrub I prepare the hole first and fill it with water then I lift the shrub wrap the root all in newspaper and straw and put it in a containers filled with water for 1/2 an hour. Then I finish the transplant and water it in again. I not as careful when transplanting in late autumn or winter though. Love watching your videos especially in winter

Hey, you got me thinking about the concrete and reebar found, when digging things up. I remember seeing on a program with Monty Don, I think. Sheep farmers had the sheep out on pastures, that were edged by retained walls, the sheep would not venture to the edge for fear of the drop in ground level. hope that made sense
Love what you guys do!

Always gotta love finding extremely questionable design choices when working on the house. Like I found out we had faceless outlets in our backyard which according to my friend, are used for Jacuzzi jets. We dont have a hot tub. I live in a duplex. There are no hot tubs in our duplex. WHY did we have those outlets?

Watching you dig reminded me of my youngest son, who is 46 now, would ask me, in a low slow voice, watcha doing Mom diggin in the dirt again. He was always amazed that I enjoyed it so much. It was a rented house and from the 40s. I found probably 30 Match Box toy cars from little boys through the years.

Arent you worried that you planted your peony tree so close to the (red point maple tree, Ive always read that peonies do not like root competition from larger plants close to them. And, maple trees grow surface roots, so it will be a bear to dig up, if you ever want to move the peony.

The barrier looks like it was originally to protect the house from irrigation. you are so bless to be able to do what you love to do. Wish I can spend more time in my garden instead of working 10 hour + days. Embrace the glorious wonders of what God has provided us in the beauty of gardening.
