EASY DIY! Dried Flowers in Resin! Garden Answer Wen: Bravo! HINT: For fresh self-dried roses, hang them upside down in a dry and dark closet by the stem. Allow them to dry about two weeks without disturbing them. I use a bread twist and a coat hanger. Make sure they do not touch anything else. Upside down will cause the moisture to go to the bud/bloom and allow them to stay fuller than pressing. The darkness will keep the color from fading as much. After they are dry, Bob's your Uncle!

I've been using casting resin for my daughters bug collection and she was asking about flowers next. She loves science and collecting things. My only concern with your video is lack of safety. Resin is very toxic and you should be wearing gloves and eye protection. You could go permanently blind. The store I bought the resin from would not sell it to me until they went through the entire list of safety measures.

I want to preserve the flower I got from my baby nephews funeral in resin to put on my memorial shelf I have for him cuz I'm afraid the flower wont hold up very long cuz as its drying its getting a bit brittle. I only got 1 flower so I only got 1 shot to do it right. This is a great video that shows step by step how to do it. I'm sure now that I can do this without messing up. Thank you.

Thank you for a video that explains everything! I've watched other videos for these paperweights but they didn't explain why the flowers should be dry, and other things you explained. These are beautiful. I was thinking of making them for bridal shower favors. One question- can I use any type of plastic container for the cast, like an empty pudding cup? Thank you for this!

Watching today 2022 June 4, and asking if they molded? Am a newby with dried flowers, pressing pansies currently and was thinking of resin molds in shape of initials of whom I'm gifting. But know nothing about the resin process and how long it last? Do you still have your molds dear Laura? Or did they rot?

Can the bottoms and/or edges of these be sanded to make them smoother if any of the flower nubbins stick out? I like the felt but want to see if I don't have to use it. I want to make something from the flowers from my mom's funeral.

How do you dry your flowers? Most of the time when I research how to dry flowers, I come across the pressing them flat and drying them between paper. I don't want my flowers flat, I would love to dry them the way you do.

I got to say this. I absolutely hate this resin. The smell is so overwhelming. I ended up throwing away almost a full can of this stuff. Epoxy resin with low odor is way better. Pretty work though.

I recently bought and tried out this product. The resin is still somewhat liquid as I can see my fingerprints in it if I touch it. Any tips on how to fix this and/or prevent this in the future?
