Setting Up Our Window Boxes on Drip Irrigation!
video description
I water my garden using rain water from our rain barrels, is it possible to use drip irrigation system via rain barrels? When I first started gardening our water bill was crazy $$$$ so hubby installed rain barrels. My plants seem healthier drinking rainwater and I feel good about conserving both water and money. However I live in Connecticut where we normally have plenty of rain, I'm sure this wouldn't be an option in a high desert climate.

When you connect the connectors/T's to the tubing, it connected so easily. It is so hard for me. The connectors/T's (& other attachment pieces) are hard to connect to the tubing. I'm using another national-brand drip irrigation system I love. I wonder if my system & the PW's Waterwise-system are compatible. Do you know if a 'bird' (wink-wink) and Proven Winners are compatible? What did Aaron use in his drill to attach the holders to the 'vinyl') house siding? This was a GREAT episode. Thanks so much!

I agree w/ you on that corner section, it would drive me crazy until its corrected, It will look more finished. Your hubby is so nice, I have a great man too, always helpful and also likes the house to look nice, as well as making things more simple and easy for me, plus he'll benefit too in the long run, as some days he has to do the watering if I'm not up to it. I ALWAYS learn so much from your videos, thank you both for making such good quality, informative, and entertaining shows!

I did it! I got my starter box and set up my second floor window boxes. I got on the roof myself! I wouldn't be brave and wouldn't try without your tutorial. So grateful to you both. The tan tube matched my house no need to paint. Yay! I have vinyl so I got clips that go in without nailing, and bought red adjustable emitters. I used a two hose timer. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for filming this!
I'm guessing that if you ran it up and down to the roof, the tubing wouldn't be able to work all the way at the end (too far for the drip tubing. I like the way it looks, cos it says to me they know what they're doing AND it is far less noticeable than hoses everywhere. - I'm sure people visiting won't even notice.

Yes, this was an old video, but I found it and it showed me the whole process. I was worrying about standing in an aisle reading all the packages and making correct choices. I have committed to do the south side gardens at my home with the Water Wise kit and will use that knowledge to finish the other three sides, Thanks for the continuing education.

Hi please just use Drip emitter line in the planters. Far superior.
Many reasons. Various spacing avail.
Max 20ft runs of blank 1/4 inch Drip line recommended but it may work albeit not as well.
You will likely be making changes over time.
There is a tool for the soft fingered installing emitters into tubing.

Hi Laura. you guys do a great job all the time. I came back to this video because you have motivated me to start these window planters, but I wanted to ask if the proven winner kit will have everything I need for the planters? I love watching your videos, I rerun all the time!

I have recently ( in the last week or so ) set up an irrigation system in my garden, it is such hard work if you have a small plot ( compared to yours, ours in tiny) not sure its worth it as I still have to run around to connect it to hose in each zone. But hey I tried it
