I have had a terrible time finding Proven Winners fertilizers locally. I really like their water soluble fertilizer for annuals. It's so expensive to order them online. I even wrote to PW and they told me they had no way to determine which retailers stocked their fertilizers which I thought was very odd. Seems like they would have a way to track orders by retailers.

Pop a clean diaper in the bottom of your baskets and that will help retain moisture. Get the extra absorbent diaper in any brand. The plastic of the diaper helps keep water in and the gel beads in the diaper soak up and blow up with water. This is the only thing I can find that will keep my baskets going in the direct Sun.

I did follow your advice last year and I bought a beautiful hanging basket and I sat it on a gazing ball base and filled it with beautiful trailing plants inside and in the sides. I added a thriller and a bunch of spillers! A tiny shrub a put in there lasted all throughout every season and I will use it this Spring!

I wanna say thank you first for sharing your ideas about garden designing and plant care. I hope you can post the result of this particular hanging plant you did. I wonder how many months it will take to make that big hanging ball of petunias. Hope to hear more about petunias and calibrachoas. Thanks a loooooottt.

Hanging baskets whaaaat? You've changed, I found out that the coconut fiber in the hanging baskets doesn't last and the birds like it too for making nests. I now line the inside with any kind of porous fiber for drainage. Just a little FYI. Anyway I love the taller hanging baskets!

Hi Laura! I could have sworn you said to line the basket with weed cloth to keep it from draining too fast. Was that a different video? I have fuschias in these but it's impossible to keep them watered in this summer heat.
Hmm. Twice a day watering. Hadn't thought of that!

Hi! This is a helpful video. I was wondering I have some bougainvillea in hanging pots from last year that I brought inside and now that it's starting to get warmer. Do I need to change the potting soil too since it's a perrinal?

Forget spending money on fertilizer, use your own urine diluted 10 parts water to 1 part urine.
Apply this cocktail every 3 weeks and watch the baskets flourish.
And now for the best bit. IT'S FREE!
