If you add a little flour, or a little cornstarch (I use flour) to your fruit and berry mix when making a crisp or a bottomless cobbler, it will help thicken it up. Not a whole lot, just a little mixed in with your sugar mixture with your fruit. It does a little of thickening below the crust and the stuff on top of course mixes as well. Usually when I make a bottomless cobbler or a berry crisp (I do a mulberry one that everyone loves) I just use butter, sugar, a bit of flour, and sometimes another flavoring agent to sprinkle on top for my crust. I didn't think about adding oats. I'll keep that in mind too.

Something about romancing the ordinary? Totally just did. So I took a quick screenshot while you were hovering over the recipe. Im gonna go grab some rhubarb from my yard and smell up the house for when the kids get home from school. Sure do love you guys.

Yes it was helpful, I only had the rhubarb this year my friend gave it to me from her dad's garden only the roots she gave me, it had grown very well in my UK garden and I was dying to pick some and knowing not to do it the first year but they are looking so good. I only picked another just to make jam or pudding. Thank you for the advice and the pudding not keen on the tea though but good idea for my root tea thanks again

I love rhubarb! It's one of my favorite things to grow -- and it seems to love Minnesota. It's very common here, which I didn't fully appreciate until I moved out of the area for a few years and couldn't find it anywhere! I moderately harvest and stock my freezer all summer. I found a bottle of rhubarb spirits that I use to make a great summer cocktail with homemade rhubarb simple syrup and iced tea _

I don't know if you look back on your old videos at new comments. but. I love that you know about rhubarb. It's such and old fashioned thing. Thanks! I dug mine up when I moved from California to Oregon, threw them in a pot and crossed my fingers! Apparently it's not easy to kill cuz it just keeps growing. I assume it will go dormant soon. It's November for pete's sake!

Binge-watching Garden Answer this morning - loved this video about rhubarb crisp. Love to make crisps! Rhubarb is a mystery to me because it didnt grow where we lived for 50 years, Louisiana. Maybe it will grow here in Missouri where we live now. Hope so - would love to make your recipe! Thanks for sharing!

I loved this video. As you harvest your garden could you do more cooking videos? A tip. When pouring hot liquid into glass put a silver spoon or utensil into the vessel to absorb the heat and prevent the glass from breaking. This works really good for iced coffee or tea.

Thank you for all the videos! Love them! And now because of you I have tried rhubarb for the first time in my life and love it too! Great recipe. I did add a little flour to the fruit mixture so mine was not so runny and it was perfect! Thank you Laura and Aaron!
