Excited to Plant Surefire Rose Begonia! Its Going to be Gorgeous! jan: As a child my mother & I would cut the existing Begonias, dip them in water & then dip them in some type of plant grown product and then plant them directly in the ground or a hanging plant. They would easily grow this way & are a cheap way to get a wonderful free plant. Also, a friend was professional land scape & had a lawn care company and told me that Begonias are the easiest & hardest plants for summer (if you live in the North East) and in Florida they are planted in the winter & can go almost all year.

I planted some last year. Didnt expect it to survive but it did lol It actually did very good and gave me flowers till fall and it survived our winter/snow. And yes they love moist. I put mine in part shade. I live in WA. I did mulched it covered it with cone shaped bamboo to protect it from the snow. Thats what i do every winter, cover my flowering plants with bamboo's. Its like their winter coat.

I love Begonias, right now I just have a few in containers. I would like to try some in yard. I live near the Sacramento River in Northern California so I have very rocky ground. I dont know how to prepare the soil. Thank you so much for sharing this planting Im anxious to see how they do. Im sure theyll do great! I hope the family is well.

I planted some of these exact variety last year, and they are coming back! I live in north carolina, zone 7. And they completely died back. I cant believe an annual is coming back like that! I'm happy though. Because they got so big and full and gorgeous, looking forward to enjoying them again this year, for free!

I was just at the nursery today to buy some begonias but due to where I want to put them (along a very sunny hot walk way) end up with dahlias instead. I'll be interested to see how these do in your climate - I'm in a 9B and can be extremely hot during summer, but the begonias would winter over.

I love the waxy leaf on it, I saw these planted in a huge containers infront of a strip mall (4ft diameter containers) and they filled in so nice, the leaf color and texture was a show stopper. I don't know if it was from proven winners but it was a begonia

Hi Laura and Aaron! That bed turned out really pretty as is, but the lemon coral sedum will add more color and be pretty, too. Can't wait to see it all filled in. I may try the begonias and sedum in containers to see how they do. TFS!

I get jealous every time I see your fluffy loose soil - I live in Kentucky and just about everything is clay which can be challenging. I definitely need to find a better potting soil. Thanks for your lovely videos.

I grow mine in pots on the patio, and then bring them indoors for the winter (zone 5 here as well. I've had the same plants for three years now, and they're thriving. Can't wait to see how yours fill in over time!
