Landscape Makeover Part 3 of 4: Planting Shrubs and Perennials! Garden Answer Janine: No part 4. We rototilled the whole front yard on the right side [looking at the house] when we THOUGHT it was warming up in March - Hah, jokes on me - in Pocatello Idaho. MISTAKE. oh my gosh, so much work. I have learned that landscapers are worth their weight in gold. I can grow almost anything, but I can NOT design.
This helps SO much. It's been a nightmare, bc the soil is actual clay that doesn't hold ANY water. Phoenix has clay too, but not like this. Plus, moving from Phoenix to Idaho, totally diff climates. the front is still a nightmare and the weeds are taking over. But this vid helps SO much. Maybe I can redeem something. Plant grass, plant weed cloth. lol thanks you SO much for these vids. where can I get black elderberry?

I wish in this video Laura would explained more as she did in part 2, I am woundering what type of tube she connected on 1/2 black distribution tubing for the anchor plants and what type of emitter she used for the anchor plants.
I was so happy when I see them doing this types of project because I am tired of watering my plants it takes hours and I would like to use the black tubing and water the plants individually that way I do not waste waterI do not want to recieve an expensive water bill from the city. Please help me. Thanks

Love to see your thought process of how to arrange plants. I think that is one of the hardest things for me. Those pines and that smoke bush, my goodness, how beautiful! Me want!
You guys do such a great job with your videos! Laura, you are informative and to the point, and your husband is an amazing videographer, even under the not so perfect conditions of wind and shade. Love the overhead views, editing, and on screen info he adds! Thank you and great job!

I'd like to see the red brick painted the same shade of white as on the front porch wall, place a fun rug on the patio, paint the white water pipes black so they fade away. (also, Laura, paint your irrigation green plastic covers black so they don't stick out so much). Also, paint the the pot and the base it is sitting on, on this patio, a gray/black. Love the front door. Stone columns would also be beautiful.

Aaaaa this actually looks really amazing already? Even tho its not too close to being done and finished?
I love how this series is also a rough guide to how to plant any area. Do your outline and removal of grass, figure out water, start with shrubs and perennials, finish with annuals and mulch. Its great

Wouldn't miss the next video. Thanks for the ideas. Everything is going to look fabulous. Another segment of your videos could be showing snapshots of viewers yards and telling them how to design the area. Of course you already have so much to do in your own yard. I would be glad to see it happen though. Tab

Love your video but could you please tell us what zone. I am in Texas sounds like you are in a very different part of the country. This is very important that I know I am in zone 8 and I believe a lot of what you plant will have a problem in Texas. I am sure others want zone also.

Hi Laura and Aaron! The gardens are coming together really well. I can't wait to see what you add tomorrow and the final results. This has been such a wonderful series. Please do more like this. Always love the drone shots! Thank you for sharing!

I was looking for videos on using drip in a mixed border that has perennials, shrubs and trees. I ran across your videos and was surprised to note your location which isn't actually too far from me--about 100 miles. Glad to see your videos.
