Planting Bulbs in Our Entryway Containers! Garden Answer handmade: Great job! Helpful tips. Use fresh mulch in your planters for extra protection and you won't have to mulch newly emerging bulbs in Spring. I noticed you already mulch newly planted bulbs in your landscape in your prior videos. That always helps me to remember where new bulbs are and saves time when we can be so busy in the Spring! I have 400 bulbs to plant next week. I will be digging up more lawn to make room for them! ( Running out of lawn )

Im so excited to see how these turn out! I wanted to do this in zone 3 but the greenhouse discouraged me, said its better to put the bulbs in the fridge and plant in March of next year. I may try your method the following year though. I saw so many outdoor pots in Amsterdam last spring that inspired me to want to plant them up in pots but no one does that here so getting the method right will be trial and error.

Do you have any tips for planting bulbs in other climates? Im in an 8b and this is my first year trying tulips in containers. I have them sitting in the fridge now and am planning on planting them in December. Is there a particular temp I need to look for to determine when to plant? Theres such a science to tulips Im so intrigued!

Cant wait to see these containers in the spring! I was thinking of planting some containers with muscari and then doing like you said, sticking pine branches in for the winter. My concern is that since muscari start growing their foliage in the fall, will the branches blocking the light be detrimental to the muscari?

Hi Laura and Aaron! Can't wait to see them when you've added the greenery and lights. I love the obelisk! If my husband was still able to do it, I'd have him make me some! I'm anxious to see them next Spring, too, along with all of your other bulbs. Thank you for sharing!

Will you put lights around the obelisk first before putting the Christmas foliage in. You could lift the obelisks off first, then put the lights on and lift them up into position. Then add the Christmas foliage, Im looking forward to seeing them sooooo much.

It will be so beautiful for spring with all the bulbs
I make bulb's lasagna. It comes down to the flowers that come last. I lay at the bottom of a jar, ground on and then another kind, and eventually the ones that come first e. g. snowdrop.

Ive planted the muscari before. Looks like a great plan for the pots. so fun that you found the great structures for inside the planters. What a beautiful way to use it until the spring show of flowers. Such great inspiration! Thanks for the video.

Good idea putting it in your phone. I don't have a phone, no service in this area. lol I have to use my husband to remember, sometimes it works and sometimes we both forget. Great video. I missed the haystacks! See you in the next one!

Im sure they will be gorgeous in the spring. What happens to the bulbs when you plant the summer display? Dont you disturb the bulbs? Or is it your plan to just have them there for one year?
