It Took Me Three Days to Decorate My Mantel. Garden Answer Buena: Love it al! Laura, you look just like your beautiful Mom! (Though your Dad & Russell might be my secret faves) I learned how to do cloved oranges as a girl, they smell divine & I'm curious to try some of the patterns & dusting tricks you mentioned to make them last. I love the magnolia and the walnut towers. I'm like you, I figure things out as I go, so I enjoy your process and hearing your various thoughts & experiments along the way. I know it's traditional but red is not my favorite color so I enjoy the white pointsettia's and the yellow bows especially with such a formidable mantle and fireplace - it's a nice, light variation. ;)

You are inspirational and so industrious! I don't know how you do everything and take care of a young child too. Amazing! I love your sense of style especially the way you use natural elements mingled with metals and wood, nuts, etc. Your new bird feeder is wonderful and stylin' on the post near your little guy's garden, I am also a gardener, but the last two years in an apt. which means I had to do all container gardening; both veges, herbs and flowers. learning a lot as I go. Thanks for your blogs and energy! Mele Kaliki Maka Hawaiian for Merry Christmas.

Hi Laura, Aaron and Benjamin! Your mantle and hearth turned out really beautiful. I like what you did with the white poinsettias. I think the red ones, although pretty, would have clashed with the oranges and the orangish color on the magnolia leaves. Benjamin, as always, is so cute and adorable. Thank you for sharing! Also, loved the shots at the Garden Center. Your family is so fun to see.

Seriously, LOL! The fast speed of the video while you decorate looks like you are doing the hokey pokey put your left foot in take your left foot out. hilarious. But the mantle looks fabulous. Honk I'll hokey pokey in my home when I decorate my home this holiday season.

I use the same garland with cedar branches woven in and tied with ribbon, put little poinsettia flowers in it and hang it over the stair railings. with clear lights. Lots of versatility!
Where did you get you fireplace insert/face?

In Germany we call this tot-chic. We say this loudly, when something is obviously beautiful and elegant and is fun to look at. This is great fun to look at. It is stylish but so new and fresh in a way. Thanks for showing it to us.

Be extra careful with the poinsettia. the are poisonous with small animals. thinking of your sweet kitties. I have two boys and will not put those in the house. not judging just wanting to tell you incase you dont know about them

Yucalyptus at the base of the poinsettias is perfect, really special. I suspect it smells great. November 2021, forst time seeing this. I have an abundance of the same magnolia, I'm going to try this, smaller scale, w/ fruit.

My older Brother did an orange with cloves when he was in 5th grade back in the 70's and every time we took out the Christmas decoration there it was the orange it smelled up the box and that was in the early 90's.
